Is DDP worth it if only staying 2 nights with DVC points?

We are taking a 4-day DCL cruise, followed by 2-nights at OKW. We should arrive at OKW from Port Canaveral on a Thursday between 10 and 11 AM. We leave on a Saturday at about 5 PM. Is the DDP worth it for the 3 of us? We are seriously considering it, but how will it work with our schedule? It will be myself, DH & DD (18). Can we use it over the 3 days?

Thanks for any input.

I've never considered it worth trying for a 2 night stay but I am usually at a signature restaurant one night...if I want table service the other night that means out of pocket. If you're going to stick to the one credit restaurants, then it might work.

What are the one credit restaurants? Are they just the TS restaurants?

We are doing exactly this and after careful consideration, I decided it is worth it for us. Your credits are good until midnight the day you check out, so you could use them for breakfast and lunch the day you leave since you will be there until 5:00. HTH

You will have 2 of each type of credit for each person so should not have a problem using them up. Do a TS the first night, CS and TS the second day and CS the day you leave. The snacks could be used in any combination during your stay. If there are a couple of TS restaurants that you have been wanting to try this is the way to do it and also try the DDP without commiting to a lot of days. To me it would be a great opportunity. Of course just coming off the cruise you may not want that much food so it is really a personal choice. Hope you have a great trip. Almost all the restaurants are 1TS. The exceptions I can think of are Cali Grill, Jiko, Artist Point, Flying Fish, O'hana, HDDR, luau, Narcosees, Yachtsman steakhouse. There are a few that don't participate mainly in the DTD area.

Thanks for your help. I think we may try it. DD and her friend may go to the parks on their own, so it will be easier to use DDP, than to give them money.

I think you should try it. This is a nice trial for you and your family. We do it for all stays now, whether the trip is 4 days or 2 weeks. We are also DDE cardholders too, so use that discount for our OOP meals. Enjoy! but make those ADRs.

Can you help me with some of these abbreviations, please? I feel silly, but what does OOP & ADR stand for?

Thanks!

OOP = Out of pocket

ADR = Advance Dining Reservations (use to be called PS/priority seating)

OOP- Out Of Pocket (paying for any extra things you order beyond what you received on the dining plan, ie alcoholic drinks or extra food)
ADR- Advance Dining Reservation (Disney's speak for their version of a reservation, used to called Priority Seating)
