Is DCL ready for some new shows?

I'm not suggesting that they get rid of "Disney Dreams", but it seems to me that some new entertainment is in order for the Disney Ships. "Voyage of the Ghost Ship" was replaced by the ill-fated "C'est Magique", which has evolved into "Morty the Magnificent". I believe "Hercules, the Muse-ical" has been there since the start. With the demise of Regis' show, can "Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer?" be long for this world?

I'd love to hear some suggestions: What should go? What should stay? While I personally love the chance to win a 7-night cruise, I could live without "Mouseketeer". And although I really liked Hercules, I think I'm ready for something else in its place.

Do they need to change anything, or are there enough first-time cruisers each trip that they might not need to?

Yes, I think so! I loved the shows, but after two cruises, I would love see some new shows on our third cruise. BUT at least we don't feel we are missing anything if we don't go.

Definitely agree! I enjoyed all of there shows, but must less so with each repeat. :( :(

I definitely wouldn't shed any tears if "Mouseketeer" were retired. A game show is not really my idea of evening entertainment, especially one that moves so slowly. I always disliked the television show for the same reason. I would love to see a stage show based on a Disney cartoon, sort of on the order of Herc. Maybe some kind of mini version of the Broadway Lion King...I'd like to see something with some acrobatics or fancy footwork, on the order of Hunchback or Tarzan at WDW, but I know how difficult that is on a ship. I just hope that Disney sticks with known characters...when they introduce something totally non-Disney, like Ghost Ship or Magique/Morty, it doesn't seem to go over very well.
Of course, even after 24 viewings, we are still not tired of Disney Dreams...I hope that one stays forever!

I agree about Disney Dreams I hope that one never leaves. As for the others yes I would love to see something new. I really wish they would do a sea version of Lion King. We've never seen the broadway show but the costumes and sets look amazing.

With all the talent that Disney has at their disposal you would think it wouldn't be too hard.

I think that this is one of the biggest reasons that i am having a hard time getting my husband to go on another DCL cruise...Now if there were some different shows throughout the week (of course they should keep Disney Dreams) I would have an easier time convincing him to go again.

I think I'm one of the few that liked "Ghostship", but I could do without "Mouseketeer". We were bored very quickly and couldn't wait until we could leave. I would love to see a performance with lively songs and dances!

Have to admit even though I love DCL we're considering RCCL Explorer in order to have some different entertainment. Our TA told me we would have the same standards that we're used to on DCL, but some different adult entertainment in the evenings.

I was disappointed with the Hercules show, loved Disney Dreams, you can take it or leave Who Wants to .... and I skipped MOrty the Manif. b/c I saw his adult show. I also say change everything, but keep Disney Dreams!

I'd like to see some new entertainment replace the '70's night contest at Rockin Bar D (very funny, but getting old), the DCL Dancers dancing to Ricky Martin's "Livin' la Vida Loca", and the ice sculpture presentation at the Goofy pool (Angel fish everytime I've seen it ... doesn't he know how to make anything else?). We didn't make it to any of the shows because we had seen most of them already.

Anyways, we still had a great time! We LOVED hearing Joe Namath's talk at Rockin Bar D. It was suppose to be a question/answer type of thing, but he started with giving us a very detailed background of his life and football career. He answered some questions at the end and was very gracious about signing LOTS of autographs. He even passed around his Superbowl ring so all of the children sitting on the stage could get a close-up look. He was wonderful to listen to and very entertaining to say the least. We also enjoyed John Lasseter's (CEO of PIXAR) background on the making of "Monsters, Inc.". In my opinion, he is the "Steven Speilberg of animated movies"! What a creative genious! He even showed the first animated film he made in college and it was AWESOME!!! Very impressive background on his career as well. These were two special, surprise events we are so glad we didn't miss. Definitely highlights of our cruise and "magical" experiences we'll never forget.

Definitely time for some new entertainment. I am going in 2003 for the 3rd time and would like to see some new shows. DCL knows that most of their guests are repeat cruisers they should consider making some changes.

We just came back from our first Wonder cruise. Disney Dreams had us all singing Disney tunes for days. We enjoyed Hercules and "Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer?". I can imagine these would get old after a third time though. ;)
The big surprise for us was "Match Your Mate". DH didn't want to go and we wound up getting there late. It was hysterical!! We laughed so hard- I'm sure this varies depending on the couples you get. Has anyone ever had a bad show with this one?
There was so much to do, of course we missed quite a few things.
Maybe I'll be more ready for changes after my next trip. ;)

I don't watch re-runs. (Except for Seinfeld, of course) So I do hope DCL puts at least some changes in their lineup.

I totally think that Disney is ready for some new shows. Then again, I have been on three cruises and have seen the shows a few times. Hercules is by far my favorite though. I think I am in a minority in thinking that Disney Dreams was kind of silly. Sure it was cool to see all the characters, but the sory itself was way too sappy! I'm sure that tie Kiddies like it though. I'd get the same excitement from seeing the characters and the songs in Disney Dreams sung as a variety show or something like that.

I also think they could improve the trip as a whole by bringing TIGGER on board! But then, I am biased!

I have seen match your mate twice and both times it was hysterical. Even the host lost it a few times with the answers that were given!!! That is something I am really looking forward to on our 8/3 magic cruise.
