Some friends of mine are going to WDW for the first time in ages. They leave next week. They tried to make reservations at CP just two weeks ago and, surprise surprise, they were all booked up. Do they start any kind of a waitlist in the mornings or do they send everyone away who does not have an ADR?

Thanks for the help. If possible, they will go strait there one morning if that's what it takes to get in.

I don't think it will hurt to walk up and ask. Sometimes the wait times for walk ins can be 60 minutes or more. There is a really great bakery on Main Street that smells yummy, they could always grab something there.

When I asked dining about walking in they said they may turn you away that many of the more wanted places have ben turning people away. You might want to keep calling.

I have never seen them take walk ups whenever we are there, if they are a disney resort guest they can try from their room phone too. I sure wouldnt walk up with the kids , they can look in the windows and see what is going on, too much disappointment, send an adult to inquire. Good luck.I do know one time they took the reservation for the next day. That was only once I saw that happen.

I personally saw them turn people away when we were there in July. One guy said it was his first trip to Disney and he didn't realize you had to make reservations in advance... I do not believe they "save" any spots for walk-ins at any WDW restaurant. I'd keep calling in case there's a cancellation somewhere along the way.

The last 3 times I've eaten there, I've seen people turned away as walk- ups.

On July 15 of this year as I was leaving the CP after we ate there, I heard the manager telling 4 Disney security members that the guest they were taking out had gotten "too bubbly" after being told no spaces were available. There was another person in front of me at the hostess check- in that was also getting rather irate with the poor girl when she said they had no walk- ups. He was yelling that he had never heard of ADRs and couldn't believe people actually know where they want to eat before they come.

That same night I saw another guest screaming and swearing (F word and all) in Casey's because he wanted to be served in a closed line because it said "enter" where he was standing. Other people started yelling at him to be quiet (I'm being nice here) and a CM actually served him just to get him out. I have been to Disney dozens of times and never have seen such bad behavior in one day.
