Is Coronavirus affecting your travel plans?

Wondering if my waitlist comes through at WDW. So far nothing...

We haven’t 100% decided about going to wdw on Thursday and Friday. We have a fp for MMRR Thursday and wanted to check out flower and garden on Friday. I feel like we would be okay but maybe I should be more cautious since I’ll be 33 weeks pregnant

In early February I booked a trip to Ireland for the end of May. I bought a trip insurance policy that includes “cancel for any reason”. From what I read that is the only policy which would cover cancellation for coronavirus related reasons since coronavirus is already a “known issue”. I used squaremouth.com to get quotes and purchase the policy. There was a lot of helpful information on the site. There was a time limit to purchase the policy after I booked the trip. “Cancel for any reason” coverage is more expensive but I am relieved that I have it. We are still planning to go but who knows what the situation will be!
Yeah, we’ll probably do that. The only problem is you have to claim it 48/72 hours before departure, so if the flight gets cancelled last minute for coronavirus, I guess it won’t do anything for me.

I’m still going to WDW in a couple weeks. Holding onto my Italy trip at end of April for now, will make a call on that in a month.

My husband's company just came out today and said they are strongly discouraging international business travel unless to Canada or Mexico; if business travel is needed for other countries you have to contact them first in order to get permission and that will be for just very very important stuff. That's an interesting development. My husband went to Canada for a tour of a power plant years ago and he went to Japan in 2014 (I believe) for an equipment test (which isn't out of the norm to go to other countries for that--Germany I know they've gone there, France as well).

If you've traveled for leisure or business internationally in the last 14 days to one of the CDC watch-list countries they want you to contact them. If you will be traveling internationally period for leisure they want you to also contact them. Presumably so they can try and mitigate exposures since they can't prohibit leisure travel.

We still have another vacation to plan for this year (large credit on SWA). We had considered a cruise but are holding back on that now, we were going to go to Grand Cayman, Turks or Aruba but decided against long before Coronavirus. It's just now we have to really consider where we're going--originally we really were wanting international travel. And maybe that's a good idea we opted to not book for Grand Cayman as they just denied an MSC cruise ship access to their ports purely based on fear/concern. That same MSC ship was denied access to Jamaica's port for the same reason. They were stuck at sea for several days and all 6,000+ passengers were refunded their monies.

AND I just heard that my husband's direct competitor in the area is monitoring 2 employees at an office not too too far from me for possible Coronavirus exposure from flights several days ago outside the U.S. They are not confirmed cases but the company is trying to be very cautious.

I'm really quite upset about this I was so looking forwards to a DCL and DW stay in May and I was hoping that by then things would have settled but atmnot looks like May will probably be the peak. So I'm really unsure on what to do. 😭

I have a trip booked for May, just me and my parents.
I'm not worried at all. I'm up in New York, so I don't have to cross any borders. I think I'll be fine, and if I have to, then I guess I'll wear a mask! (FYI: I'd only wear one if I was forced to, those things suck.)
I don't think Americans should worry yet. Be cautious, but not worried.

Masks will only help when you have the right type and you know how to put it on properly and don't remove it. Here in my counry (NL) they only focus on washing your hands etc. but masks are useless, they basically say.

I think right now they’re saying only people who are sick should be wearing the masks. It doesn’t help prevent the sickness much

What about a beach resort? Would those concerned cancel an early April trip to a beach resort? Still a gathering of people but no where near the size of a theme park.

To me it's the flying that scares me way more than the destination. And not because I might catch it on the plane, rather I'd be depending on the plane to get me home. Whereas I've flown with a cold before, they probably are going to be denying boarding to anyone who so much as sneezes soon. At least, that's certainly my fear about traveling right now.

Where is the beach resort at?

Hilton head. We would drive. But staying at large resort with need to eat in their restaurants. And kids would want pool of course.

The risk is a bit lower. Less people = less risk. But it still only takes one sneeze in the wrong direction.

Same here. My hesitation is all about traveling through the ATL airport.
