My husband and daughter will be traveling to Orlando the first week in December, spending a few days at Universal and then switching to WDW for the rest of our vacation. Since we will only be spending a few nights at Universal, I'm toying with the idea of doing the Club Level. Is it worth the money? How much food and drink do you actually get?

All opinions welcome :-)

Some people think it is and some don't. When we go with my teen boys it is worth it. The bottled water and soda alone adds up. Breakfast is great. Sometimes (most times) we don't get back to the hotel for happy hour and appetizers and then a bit later dessert. In my opinion there is plenty of offerings. I also really enjoy the lounge and the cabana discount.

Roughly how much extra cost is involved with the Club rooms? We have 3 night in the PBH in a few weeks time and must say i've never thought of upgrading.

We have a Bay view room booked just now if that makes any difference.

Does the breakfast get served early enough to make use of the early opening for HP as that would be a game breaker for us? :)

We thought it was worth every penny..BUT we were able to take advantage of it.The PBH Club lounge opened for breakfast at 7am.Since early entry for WWoHP was 8am that time of year ( regular opening was 9am) we were able to take full advantage of breakfast and still get there for early entry.Lunch time was just snacks and beverages.Evening appys and wine were more than enough to have it as a meal if we chose. We very often were in the lounge Breakfast, evenings and for dessert at the end of the day.

We thought it was worth it as well.
Hubby is not a breakfast eater and I am. So it worked out well in the morning. Hubby is also a snacker and I'm not so he was able to pop in and get a little something whenever he wanted.

We only stayed 2 nights so it wasn't that much more $. If we were staying a week maybe I would have saved the $.

We stayed club level at PBH for four nights a few weeks ago, it was our first club visit.

We thought it was worth it. We had breakfast every day...except one (went to the 7 am opening of HP). We also took our break and did not head back to the parks and/or dinner until after the cocktail hour.

We just got back yesterday and stayed on club level. For us -- totally worth it. BTW -- they now open at 6 am so you can get breakfast before going to 7 am park opening. Really impressed with the food for dinner -- i.e, one day they served a huge seafood paella for dinner which was delicious.

Where did you stay? So happy to hear they are opening the lounge to accommodate those that want to hit early entry! :thumbsup2

We've not done CL, but if (and when hopefully) we go back, we will definitely upgrade to stay CL. My kids, DS17, DD14 and DD10 eat and drink constantly. We thought although the food is overall better at USO's resorts, it's also more expensive than Disney. We went way over our budget with food on our Universal part of the trip, and even tried to minimize what they ordered/ate.
For us, it would be worth it!

We were at Portofino. It was my sister and I plus three boys ages 11, 13 and 16. They opened for breakfast at 6 (note, door will not open with key card until 630 am so you just need to knock and concierge will let you in). Huge assortment of breakfast foods. Snacks were all prepackaged (no big bowl of stuff that you dont know whose hands were in!) -- there were taro chips, crackerjacks, granola bars, smart pop, pretzels, uncrustable sandwiches, huge assortment of drinks. Dinner was consistently good -- although the seafood paella was my favorite. The spagetti and meatballs was also very good (with a big caesar salad). Because we came back to the hotel between 12 and 5-ish, the club was a great place for the boys to hang out, cool off, snack and watch the olympics. They didnt always feel like going to the pool in the afternoon so it was great to have this added space. We would have killed each other if we were all hanging out in the room together.

We have 8 nights booked under the "stay more, save more" promo. I think its about $80 a night more for CL room over standard. For the 3 of us you are probably looking at $50 a day for breakfast alone. So when you figure in some bottled waters, a few beers, snacks, and I used the fitness center a couple of times last trip its a no brainer for us. Especially when you factor in the convience.

Thank you! Sounds like it was great - will have to give PBH CL another try.:thumbsup2
