Is Chef Mickey a good place?

I am still looking into which restaurant I will bring my parents for their wedding anniversary July 7.

I came across Chef Mickey, and how a lot of people love it.

Will we have fun?

What's special about it?

If I mention that we are celebrating a wedding anniversary, will they do anything special?

Umm, unless your folks LOVE Mickey and lots of little kids and noise, I'd skip Chef Mickeys. All the menus for all the WDW restaurants are available at www.allearsnet.com -- I think you might want to pick a non-character meal. We've celebrated birthdays there (which many people do) -- my sense is that they'd put a candle in the dessert for an anniversary but that's about it (they do a special song for birthdays that has the entire place swinging napkins over their heads and singing loudly).

i agree w/bleeps. if you could provide a little more info on the make up of the dining party that would be helpful. my thought was jiko at animal kingdom lodge. very nice and the food/service is excellent. for my husband's b-day he got a card signed by the servers w/sentiments in their home language and i think a complimentary dessert. wherever you chose be sure to have it noted on the ADR when you call and then at check-in make sure it is there.

it's just gonna be and my parents.

we don't mind the noise and liveliness. We don't really want to dress up since we don't want to bring jackets or blazers

Ok if you want an upbeat celebratory Disney meal it really is fun.

Expect solid food. But don't expect Gourmet. Expect fun, and expect a bit of noise. When they play the song, it's time to do the napkin twirl. It is very fun. The Characters will interact with the adults too. Say something like It's Chip, from Dale N Chip and watch Dale jump for Joy while Chip goes Berzerk.

Most Dsney places aren't dress up. Polo shirts and nice shorts are more than sufficient for all but a couple places.

If that's the case, you should do it! Its very fun, friendly, "Disney-like", and the food is very good! Have fun!

I can't wait hehehe

As soon as we book our vacation (we are waiting for my dad's doctor approval since he had an intervention for his heart before x-mas)

It's gonna be my B.F.A graduation trip too.

I'm soooooooo excited!

As long as you are OK with the above, I say go for it!

However, you may want to also consider 1900 Park Fare for dinner. We've always found the food to be very good...they do have characters - Cinderella, Prince Charming and the mice. Wouldn't it be fun to have a character picture with Cinderella and Prince Charming? :) The atmosphere isn't as wild at Chef Mickey's but still fun. You don't have to get dressed up either.

We will be staying at the All-Star music.

Is the restaurant you mentioned "partyof5" accessible by bus, or do we have to get a taxi?

From the All Stars take the Magic Kingdom bus. Go to the Monorail station and ride it to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's or around to the Grand Floridian for 1900 Park Faire. The contemporary is actually within walking distance of the bus stop and didn't seem to be much further, if any, than the monorail station from there. It might be faster to walk from there.
