we had eaten at Ohana a few years back when Mickey was still hosting - we just made ADR and discovered that Lilo and Stitch are there. are there any other characters? is it worth going??? we usually go to Chef Mickey's but are staying at Poly this time and thought it might be easier to just go downstairs....

The have Lilo and Stich but also Mickey and Pluto.

O'hana is my favourite character breakfast. I thought it was far better than Chef M's. The food was better plus it is served to the table. The pinapple bread is to die for and the fresh fruit was far better than any buffet.

We had a really good time there. The character interaction is excellent, Pluto and Goofy were there as well as Lilo and Stitch. If you're staying at the hotel then I would definitely do it!

Is it all you care to eat (ie will they bring more fruit if you want it?)

I know this is silly but is there anyway I could convince them to bring me tonga toast or do I have to go to Kona? I have been hearing about the legendary Tonga for years and have been dying to try it yet b'fast is usually Chef Mickey's or on the go.

If you want to try the tonga toast go to Captn Cooks at the POLY. It's only about $4 down there.

I really doubt they will give it to you at O'hana but you could always try.

what is cap'n cooks? is that the self dine/take out at poly? if so - they do Tonga??????? so I don't need to go to Kona - awesome.

I have to throw in a vote for the Ohana Breakfast! It is our family's absolute favorite character meal. Yes, they'll bring you more of anything you want, even Mickey Waffles, which aren't in the big skillet in the middle of the table. We love the fruit on the tables and the pineapple bread, rocks.

:wizard:

loopner - thanks! I was worried as I did not see pancakes, waffles or french toast on the menu - just scrambled eggs - I would have had one happy kid and one HUNGRY and miserable one. AMEN for mickey waffles!

Hmmmmm... I just checked the menu on allears and the waffles aren't listed, but they've always had them every time we've ever attended this breakfast. That said, I hope the menu hasn't changed - we haven't been there since April '07. We're going back next month and I can let you know if the waffles are still part of the breakfast, if you want? When are you going?

We did Ohana breakfast in May and it was everything everyone said it was. I thought it was only going to be Lilo & Stitch, but we were pleasantly surprised to see Mickey, Pluto and goofy as well. And yes, they do still have the Mickey waffles, they're really good. My kids loved them. I also l loved the POG juice, passonfruit, orange, guava that is a staple in the Hawaiian islands was a real treat. We loved the interaction and the fun. Although you should know ahead of time, they will take your photo as you come in and charge I think it was $35 for a couple of pix. At the character meals in the hotels, you cannot put these pix on your photopass. We had already purchased the photo pass, so declined these photos. It wasn't a big loss for us anyway, the photo they take of you doesn't have any characters, it's just you standing in front of a back drop with some props in front.

My only other suggestion is to go early, before it gets crowded and busy. I know there are lots of people on here singing this song, so I listened when we went and I was glad. We got to our table right away and it was nice, not wild and crazy. But when we left an hour later, the line was way out the door and it was very busy. I was greatful for the Disboards!:woohoo:

Enjoy!!:cool1:

Thanks drcbpearse for letting us know the waffles are still there! Hooray. I also have to add that I loooooved the juice, too!

Oh and about the picture outside of the restaurant, we were there once when it wasn't very busy and the photographer was nice enough to take a picture of my family with *my* camera by the props (The sign that says "Ohana" in front of us).

DEFINITELY worth it, IMO :cool1: :cool1:. Lilo & Stitch are there along with Mickey in his Hawaiian shirt......plus the food is awesome (especially the juice :)). I would keep it :goodvibes.

ok, ok - you all have convinced me and DH is thrilled as he has been hassling me to go back as he prefers this to Chef Mickey's....

We just ate there 2 weeks ago from tomorrow (does that make sense??).

They brought out the Mickey Waffles to the table.

My dh wanted to eat there since we were staying at the Poly & he wanted an easy place to get to, which it was.

We didn't get the pineapple bread which I am bummed out on. I think because my ds has some food allergies so they didn't serve it but they could of since he doesn't eat that kind of bread.

My oldest did the parade in there.

Yes....Captn' Cooks is the Poly's CS.....and yes they have the Tonga Toast. If you look up the menu it's not listed but they have it.
