Is Boma's THAT bad?!

We liked Boma quite a lot. Even my steak and potatoes DH.

We sat near the back of the room, pretty far from the buffet. I know the soups in particular had a very fragrant aroma with cinamon (and nutmeg and ginger). I could see where the smells might taint the flavor of your food if you were sitting right on top of the buffet. So it might not just be a matter of taste, but geography as well.

But you will never know if you like it until you try it.

It amazed me how many adults were lined up at the chicken finger and spaghetti area and were not even trying the African food.

I've seen the same thing at many buffet lines on cruises we've been on. The line for franks and beans is always out the door while the carving station for the roasted pheasant is always short...

If I step foot in the state of Florida, two things must happen: I gotta eat at Boma, and I gotta do Summit Plummet.

And drink some Tusker Lager. Okay, three things.

I'm reading the below post about the "Bottom 3" restaurants at Disney and there are a TON of people who put Boma's dinner on the list. Most of the people said everything has an overwhelming cinnamon taste. Is this true?? I thought it sounded like an incredible dinner, but if it's really no good I'd like to change my reservation!:confused3

BOMA Is awesome. AKL is an amazing resort, great restaurants, great decor. It's just too bad that it's so far out of the way of anything else.

It is one of our faves. We ate there breakfast and dinner at our last trip. We loved dinner. We are doing dinner there again!

We love Boma! After our recent trip, which included our second visit to Boma, I decided I'll try to book a meal there every time we go. It's been my favorite meal both times.

The bobotie has cinnamon...and its delicious!!!

I'd say Boma is more adventurous in the sense that it is not steak and potatoes...and the other buffets in WDW (except maybe Biergarten) are mostly American foods...potato salad, roast beef, pasta salad, etc. There is a bit of a different flavor in the food at Boma. Still, I'd say its been one of our best meals. The service has always been excellent and I've never been bothered by noise (we actually prefer noise with a 2 year old :) )

Again, you should definitely try it for yourself. I've found that if you read too much about anything on the DIS, you'll find that every resort and restaurant are both the best and worst meals everyone has ever had.

Loved, loved, loved Boma's!! So did hubby and the kids. Was one of our top 3 the whole trip

Desserts were also hands down the best we had the entire trip- zebra domes, sooooo good. Apricot panna cotta- also soooooo good. And I didn't notice a lot of cinnamon in the items- a few yes, but most no
