Is Boma worth $50 for a dinner buffet?

No Buffet at WDW is worth that but everything is relative. It is, pretty much the best buffet I've had on property.

We’ve been to Boma many times over the years, October of 2021 being the most recent. I found this past trip to be disappointing. There were fewer options than in the past, quality of the food was diminished as compared to previous trips and the drink service/plate clearing was slooooowwwww. We won’t be back for a long time and that makes me sad as it was always one of my family’s favorites. The decline reminds me of the rocky years O’hana had a few years back and I still haven’t been back there even though I have heard that it has improved… too many good options at WDW and the surrounding area to pay out the nose and risk having a lackluster meal.

We went in October 2021 and didn't find too much of a difference. The food was very good. There were fewer options, but still enough to make it worth the cost. Fewer options and slower service are likely attributable to supply and labor shortages that are occurring everywhere now, not just at WDW.

Ate there most recently the first week of January. Love it! Definitely the best buffet on property in my opinion.

They did give the discount for Chase Disney VISA.

One thing I’ve been wondering is how does the value of boma rank for dinner vs breakfast? I know value is relative to everyone and being on Disney property will make us pay more for buffet then we would off site but is boma dinner worth the 70% cost increase over breakfast? If you could only do one would value of dinner be there over the breakfast?

Eggs, breakfast meats, and pancake/waffle mix are going to be a lot cheaper than all the ingredients that make up the variety of the dinner buffet, so yes, dinner is worth the % increase over breakfast. You’ll have soup, salads, and desserts added to dinner that would not be part of breakfast.
Compare the prices to Chef Mickeys which has not returned to buffet although it does have characters. Chef Mickeys is more expensive for both meals, but the variety of food and quality (at least pre-pandemic) is much better at Boma.

Breakfast is all you can eat but not very unique. Dinner has more unique options.

I have done both but by far prefer dinner.

I would say it depends on how adventurous an eater you are. We love both and when we eat the breakfast do it on the later end, and are good until dinner. If you do breakfast, try the jungle juice!

They had to change distributors for the POG(jungle juice). It is horrible now and has artificial sweetener in it. Not good at all.

We went in November and I did not notice a difference with the jungle juice at breakfast one day or dinner on Thanksgiving.

We had breakfast and dinner at Boma in August 2021. Both were just as good as during previous trips although there were a few items missing from the menu which is to be expected (I can't even reliably get things like cauliflower or the brand of yogurt I want from my local grocery store right now). They have always done an amazing job with DD's food intolerances as well. If you had an appetizer, entree and dessert and non-alcoholic drink from pretty much any sit down restaurant on property it would cost the same if not more than a meal at Boma.

I did not agree with the recent negative Disney Dining Show review of Boma. I felt like a lot of the negativity with that review stemmed from the fact that Boma has a different set up compared to Disney cruise line buffets.
