Is Biergarten really all that bad?

I forgot about the pretzel rolls, they were yummy :)

0% German here with just a touch of Anglo and I loved that restaurant. Anytime I'm in the mood for meat I'll be back there.

The Biergarten is one of favorites and has been for twenty years. I really enjoyed when it was a menu table service restaurant and have gotten to enjoy the buffet, too. The buffet offers something for everyone and plenty of it. Throw in the atmosphere and entertainment and you have one of the better values in WDW dining. We'll be eating there Christmas just in time to step out for Illuminations.

I would say the food is good, not great. Some items are better than others. It really is one to go to for the atmosphere rather than the food. My mother grew up in Germany and agrees about the food.

My daughters had a blast , and a year later are still talking about it and wanting to go back there.

We love Biergarten for the Ooompah Band. To me the food was just mediocre; I've had much better at the local Oktoberfest. I couldn't wait to try the schnitzel, but instead of veal it was made with chicken (cheap!).

It has nothing to do with being cheap. They make it with chicken because the cast majority of American eaters do not eat veal.

We have often used the "facilities" there, but never actually dined there until this past summer. We finally decided to give it a try. I expected to hate it there, but enjoyed it instead. The food was good and the service (drinks, etc.) was friendly.

We thought, because we ate at an off hour, that we would be seated alone. Instead, our table was filled while others remained empty. I would warn you to expect to be seated with others regardless of how slow the restaurant may be. When they say family style, they mean it! :sunny:

We went for the first time is September and everyone in our party of 7 LOVED it. I think it's the most beautiful restaurant at Disney on the inside. Great detail, and gives you such a warm, homey feeling. Nothing like atmosphere ala Disney!

when we were there in March with 3 adults and 4 kids, it was our favorite dinner! We loved the lively atmosphere, no waiting for the food to be brought and there was something for everyone at the buffet. The food really was not that exotic. Give it a try!

Eat there last Tuesday Food was ok DW didn't care for it at all. We will not be going back. :Pinkbounc

My mom is from Germany and we always go there when we visit. We really love the food and atmosphere. I find the dinner to be better than lunch, more selections. I don't mind sitting with other people, usually they are really great. Occassionally they are unaware of the way things go there and seem a bit put out by sharing a table, etc. We are dining there in March, can't wait!

We might just see each other then! We have decided to go for it and we will be there in March as well.

of course you should try it. we really enjoyed biergarten on our visit in november, the food was good & plentiful & so was the beer. the entertainment & theming is also great. cant wait to do it again this march.

DH and I had lunch there in the summer and we both really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. :flower:

We ate there 2 times last week and loved it! You don't have to talk to the other people sitting at your table either, we didn't.

We really enjoy it. Only thing we don't love is being seated with other people. You never know how they will feel about a child, or how "into" things they will be. But it's a lot of fun, and we enjoy the food!

the Beirgarten when we were there. I am surprised how many people have problems with be seated with another family. Its not like the mix them into your group, they are just seated next to you (and in many cases, leaving a seat between parties).
The food is good and the atmosphere is fun.
Have a great time!
