Is BCV still a deal at Disney rates?

I am wondering if you DVC members think that the BCV or BWV are still a fairly good deal compared to delux rooms at the resorts? If renting points was never available to the public would you still think it was a better deal to reserve this from Disney than a delux room? I am looking into possibly renting a 2 bedroom for 7 people. Would have to get 2 rooms at a delux. Thanks for any opinions.

If you're talking cash from CRO, that's big bucks. Still, I think it's worth it for many situations. Renting from a member bay be the best for weekdays, weekends will actually be better on cash. If you will spend much time in the room and/ordo much cooking; I think you'll find the 1 or 2 BR a great value.

I think what you are asking is whether it is a better value to get 2 regular deluxe rooms vs. 1 two-bedroom (dealing directly with Disney in both cases). Hands down there is no comparison to having the two-bedroom with all it's extra amenitities.

I looked at Regular Season -- waterview room at BWV. It would be $405 per room (plus tax) $810 before tax. From Disney, you can get a BWV two-bedroom in Regular Season for $705 (plus tax). To me, it's a no brainer to take the two-bedroom.

If you want to throw in some slight risk with cancellation policy and give up some housekeeping, you can bring down the price substantially by dealing directly with a DVC member for rental.

I was hoping you all would think it was a better deal, What do you mean a slight rinsk in the cancelation policy? Thanks for your input. Are the villas not as convienent to everything as the regular hotels? Or is it better because they are a little farther from the noise and confusion?

We are a family of six and own another TS which we trade through RCI, as well as DVC. We just got back from BCV, our home resort. For me, once you start staying in condo type rooms it is HARD to go back to regular hotel rooms. There is much more space, plus we like to use the kitchen for a meal or two each day. The washer and dryer are FANTASTIC! At BCV, I did not feel that it was a long walk to the hotel restaurant, pool, ect.... The whole resort was well laid out and the villas are nicely integrated into the hotel. JMHO....Lacee

The cancellation policy with points or a member discount is 31 days before, with CRO it's 5 days before. I would also tend to rent points from a member and get a 2 bedroom--it's a much better deal, and you get a lot more space. Don't give up on CRO, though--the regular 407-Disney number--if you have an AP rate you could rent a 2 bedroom cheaply there, too, especially on the weekends. We could rent a studio for $169, and a 1 bedroom for $300 with tax, a two bedroom wouldn't be over $400, I don't think. The biggest problem with going thru CRO is that maid service comes with cash, and I HATE having maid service EVERY day!

When you book with Disney, you get the regular resort style cancellation policy. When you rent points from a member, you are setting up an individual private transaction. The member has certain restrictions on their points and may require you to confirm the deal with a graduated refund schedule. At some point, the transaction has to be a "final sale". Members don't have the flexibilty of a hotel to find someone else to take the room.
