I am in need of a healthy weight loss diet that is easy to do. I start my diet every morning and I am off of it by noon. I need some help! This one looks pretty good. Any reviews on this?

Years ago I read one of her diet books. I happened to work for a mom and pop bookstore so I was allowed to borrow it. From what I remember it was a LOT of prep work and food combining. I never did it and honestly? I thought it was a load of crap. Not to mention Susan Summers is a full blown wackado. If I were going to follow any kind of diet book it would be one with common sense and sound nutrition like Dr. Oz, South Beach or even the Flat Belly diet.

What it boils down to is calories in versus calories out. There are plenty of free sites dedicated to sound nutrition and common sense approaches. I lost 60 lbs over a 7-8 month time frame and have been keeping it off fairly easy by paying attention to what I put in and exercise. I followed a diabetic diet approach, high protein and complex carbs (ie; whole grains, fruit and veggies). I'm not a diabetic but this made the most sense to me. Some use the American Heart Association guidelines. Either of these can be found for free with google. Two of my favorite sites are LoseIt and SparkPeople. They're free and they provide excellent tools to help you come up with a plan and the support you need to succeed.

Good luck!

I have just started this and really like it. Anytime I've ever tried low carb I broke my diet by about 10 am. Her program works because you can actually eat fruit, there are tons of vegetables, she allows coffee, and there aren't any restrictions on the protein. Granted, I only had to lose three pounds, but my issue has always been fighting hunger all day every day. Since I've been following her plan I am actually not hungry, which amazes me. In a way it is depressing because I have no appetite for cake, candy, bread, all the things I normally adore. She has changed her program through the years, so her first books are stricter than the latest. I bought the latest book for my program but will buy the earlier books now...I checked them out of the library and they have excellent recipes.
