Hi,

I'm looking for salon's to have an airbrush spray tan for my wedding, has anyone done this before there wedding, I can't have it at home before I leave as I'm going to florida 6 days before the wedding, so it would of worn off, if anyone can recommend a salon that would be fantastic, I'm staying in kissimmee near oldtown.

Thank you,
Wendy xxx :wizard: :cloud9: princess:

Just be careful. I got the spray tanning as a test for my sister before her prom, and it wore off on my clothes for several days, espcially when I sweat. It was notcable on the armpits and the collar, so wering a white gown in humid Orlando may present a problem.

Don't do it. I've had this done, and you get weird areas around ankles , elbows etc that are very streaky and orange.....even with a perfect spray tan, you don't want to risk it coming off on your gown....Yikes, if it rained...or was very hot...or if you dance and perspire.

I would advise against it also, my friend had her's done before her wedding and to start with she looked great but as the day went on she noticed orange patches on her dress!

My friend is a beautician and runs her own salon; she does all types of tanning - spray, fake bake, st tropez. She has advised me not to go for a fake tan of any kind, not just because of the obvious reasons such as streaking. The main reason is that if you are wearing white, it can make you look very orange and i am sure you dont want to look back on your big day and regret it because of 'some' $50 fake tan! Go for the 'au natural' look!

hi there, i wouldnt have it done, you should start going on sunbeds / stand and tan booths 1 month before you go then you will have a base tan, i'm sure you will look fab anyway xx

This happened to to me once my white shirt turned orange on the trim!

Thank you everyone, I'll take your good advice and give the spray tan a miss, I'll go natural, I've tryed the stand up tanner's but they don't do anything I just don't tan, I'm going to save my money.

Many Thanks for the advice,

Why don't you try one of those gradual self-tanner/ moisturizers that are so popular right now? I know Jergens and Dove make them and they work relatively well and give you a natural looking "glow". They are pretty cheap and MUCH safer than the sun and tanning booths. HTH :)

Wendy

I have also had problems with getting tan from the tanner. I found that if I use a lotion or accellerator with my tanning bed it works much better. I also use a moisturizer right after I get out. It is a lot of applicating but it makes the tanning bed worth it.
I can't suggest one brand but at the tanner they should have samples you can buy for like 2 dollars or so.
If you are still having a problem try something with Tingle. I hanen't used it but hear it helps bring oxygen and blood to the skin so you tan better.
I hope that is helpful to you. Your tanner (if you choose a good experianced one) should be able to answer questions.

I've started using the new Dove one recently, and I'm having a good experience! I use it about three times a week instead of every day, but I think my color looks great... tan but natural, and since each layer you put on is more subtle, it's easier to get it even instead of streaky (like I always did with the last generation of self-tanners).

May I please just tell those of you who are thinking about going to an actual tanning bed...DON'T. It's lethal. One of my dearest friends died of Melanoma...it took less than two years to eat her alive. She was 24 years old. A tan body is NOT worth shortening your life. I was just in a wedding where the bride did Mystic Tan a week before the wedding and it was perfect. It didn't come off on her gown at all.

please please people...I beg of you...avoid tanning beds like you avoid cigarette smoke...it's so not worth the extreme danger. Melanoma is quick andn very difficult to cure. When my friend died the melanoma had spread all over her body...she had five tumors in her liver...the cancer ate her alive and there was no time to do anything about it. A tan from a tanning bed is NEVER "worth it"...people say that and I just cringe. Moisterizing your skin after tanning beds does nothing to stop the damage. Tanning beds change your DNA...warp it and cause cancerous cells to grow and mutate.

white skin is IN! :) Please stay safe and healthy! USE SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY!!!

Hi,

Thank you everyone for your replies.

littleladykaty I'm very sorry about your friend, I'm not going to use a sunbed, I'm going to try a moisturiser with a hint of self tan, I've tryed Johnson's over here in the UK and the colour is nice. So I'm going to stick with that, with a bit of practise I'll have it perfected by the day.

Thank you,

Take Care,

Wendy,
I'm glad to hear you are being kind to your skin! Interestingly...my friend who passed away from skin cancer was also called Wendy.

Live up to your beautiful name, live a happy and charmed life...be blessed...be happy!

best of luck!

I can relate to littleladykaty, my step dad has skin cancer and is under going treatment. Bit of a tender subject as we are very close and it saddens me to hear about young people dying like this. Is it really worth it? I myself was one who used to use sunbeds, thinking it would never happen to anyone i know. My step dad has to have his face rebuilt and it undergoing surgery in september and he and my mother will be missing my wedding :sad2:
Stick with the Johnsons, i really like that stuff, even if it smells a bit! :thumbsup2

so sorry to hear about your step dad. It's so incredibly sad that young people are still using tanning beds and not using sunscreen even with all the information out there, all the proof they need to see how deadly it is...that "it won't happen to me" attitude is the kind of ignorance that is deadly. I find it sadly funny that a lot of people who use tanning beds say things like "Oh my gosh, I don't smoke that is SO BAD for you...you'll get cancer..." Helloooo...tanning bed/no sunscreen = loaded cancer gun!

best wishes to your step dad and your family :grouphug:
