It appears that it will be raining off and on all of next week at the World. I thought January was a light rain month?? I can understand 1 or 2 days but the forecase has it raining from Sunday to Friday. Please help convince me this won't ruin our magical vacation!!

Unfortunately, January is a really iffy month for Orlando, weather wise. It is one of the lighter rain months, but it can all come at once.

Pack ponchos and umbrellas. You'll be fine. You'll be at Disney World!!!! :)

Hi!

We arrive Sunday and I have been watching the weather and it has changed every day for the last few days. It seems to be that only 2 maybe 3 will be mostly cloudy, but the rest look to be ok.
Weather in Florida is iffy at the least. It's just like Texas here, one day they will swear that it is going to be raining and it will be nice. We will be at Disney........who cares about the Weather!

Most of the Rain usually happens in the late afternoon and overnight. We will be fine.

You know, I haven't been to WDW too many times when it didn't rain. We still have a great time, and you will too! I'm sending Pixie Dust your way:wave:

It's 72 degrees and bright sunshine and blue skies today.
It rained a bit on Monday but cleared up quickly after the thundershows passed through.

Ponchos will do the trick if it does rain. check this link from time to time http://www.local6.com/weather/

Have fun.

We arrive on the 30th... I am hoping for nice weather. Today it is cold and cloudy, but no rain...

I am with you Growinup disney. After all of my planning for my Jan 23 to Jan 27 trip. I forgot to order good weather. I am slightly disappointed, but I am good to put a smile on my face and hope for the best. :) I hate being soggy...

We also arrive on the 30th and accuweather predicts rain, clouds and more rain. A high of 76 on Feb 2 is expected with a low of 52 on 1/31.

We live south of Orlando and we've been having nothing but overcast skies.

But, cheer up! Disney in the rain is better than no Disney at all :) :umbrella:

HEY FOLKS,

EVERY MORNING I GO ON ORLANDOWEATHER.COM OR ON MCO'S WEBSITE AND CHECK OUT THE WEATHER. I SEE IT'S RATHER NIPPY IN THE MORNINGS. THEN AGAIN, ANYTHING IS BETTER HERE IN NJ.

MY LAST TRIP TO THE WORLD I HAD 8 DAYS OF NO RAIN!!! HOPING FOR THAT AGAIN!!!!!

LAH

I agree that 8 days of rain at WDW would be netter than clear skies at home, but I just want this to be perfect after all my planning (I kno, I know - nothing is perfect) But the thoguht of climbing in and out of ponchos is not my idea of fun.

But Oh well - I will go with the flow and enjoy myself regardless, or in spite of, the weather.

I'll be looking for lime green while I am there!! I will have a ribbon on my backpack, so anyone who spots me from the DIS be sure to say hello!!

We head to Disney on Saturday and will be there until Wednesday. After watching the weather these past few days, I've asked my husband why they call Flordia the "Sunshine State" :) We're from Maine where the temps have been below zero lately and will be again this weekend, so I think I can take 60 and cloudy with some showers over the weather we're in for any day!!!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc Cheer Up! We'll be at the World next week too and I've been watching the weather forecasts change even twice a day! I just looked on weather.com from the Weather Channel and the rain forecasted from Sun-Friday right now only shows between 30-40% chance of rain each day. It will not be a total washout, for sure! The conditions are probably just so that they can't rule out a few showers and they can't say that it will be sunny then if the possiblity of showers are there. Here in Michigan, we have a 30-40% chance of snow every day until next Thursday, so let me tell you where I'd rather be!

I am a weather jinx. If we are having a dry summer, I just pack a tent and go camping and the drought will be over!

I arrive in Fl on Jan 27, but not to WDW until Feb 1, so maybe you will get a few good days in before I get to Orlando.

We are arriving to stay at the POP Century Jan 27 & 28 before going on our Disney Wonder Cruise.
I am thinking that the weather will be just great, sunshine and warm temperatures.
Hey, it helps to have a positive attitude doesn't it.
Looks like we will be in good company, plenty of DIS'ers going to WDW next week.
I will be on the lookout for lime green anythings.

:(
We'll be there on Saturday too (USF), then WDW on Monday. I am very worried, but I can't do anything about the weather.

**Also, it does say 30-40% chance of rain, but they forgot to mention the 60-70% chance of no rain!** Let's think POSITIVE!

Hopefully, if it does rain, atleast it won't be anything like the DELUGE on Dec. 5, 2003 at the MVMCP. All we can do is think positive and be prepared. Bring your ponchos, extra hairspray, waterproof mascara (or don't wear any) and a BIG SMILE! That's bound to brighten up your day, and maybe even someone else's.
 :sunny:

Am I correct in assuming the shop at Pop Century will have ponchos for sale?

Thanks, Daisy:sunny:

Who has fingers, toes and eyes crossed that it doesn't rain all week!!

We too will be there next week, and we've seen the weather forecast and have been very distressed... to say the least.

This is why me and my family have indeed filed a formal complaint with Mr. Eisner, WDW corp. and ABC entertainment, and are considering legal "action."

1) "We, with good and fair intent, planed said vacation, and have contracted for a "fun, Disney experience..." one that rain and poor weather may indeed compromise.

2) Furthermore, as an advertised vendor of "fun and good times" we hold WDW and all related parties responsible for all conditions related to previously stated expectations of "outcome" base performance... an outcome we feel will be compromised due to WDW's and all related parties inability to perform to above prescribed implied assurances and guarantee's of said "fun and good times" with respect to the weather.

3) Additionally, because of these implied, assured, and in some cases, guaranteed statements of “the perfect vacation” we hold the WDW corporation and all related parties wholly responsible for our personal enjoyment and absolute fulfillment related to, both implied and stated, our complete and absolute “perfect vacation.” Anything less would, in this barrister’s opinion, be an abject and complete abrogation of WDW’s and all related parties responsibilities to honor and uphold all stated and implied assurances of a “perfect vacation.”
Therefore we hold Mickey, WDW, and all related parties responsible for our good time, not limited to, but including, perfect weather.

I rest my case…

Not!

Can't wait to be there in 2 days... rain or shine!!!!::MickeyMo

Pig Pen - - Sorry to have to ask you this. But do you think that you could cancel your trip and stay home?? I really want sunshine. I have had to endure a winter of snow and blizzards and really really cool weather. Now I just want sunshine for four lousy days. (Just Kidding - we probably cant blame you for the bad weather, I tend not to have good luck either).

Like I said before, I am getting out my puncho and putting a smile on my face.. I might have to start going to church, to pray for sunshine.
