We went in Dec 6 years ago where it rained 10 out of the 11 days we were in WDW. We were disappointed at first but remembered we were staying at the GF main lodge concierge and so decided to get our money's worth. We read the paper in the mornings while eating breakfast on the concierge floor, we played GF board games at night and got to meet one of the celebrities who was speaking at the CP and staying at the Grand, and we enjoyed our turret room and spent a LOT of time in there. Ironically the turrets do not have balconies which are a must for me, but I wouldn't have been able to use anyway due to the rain. It was a wonderful 5th year anniversary and we figured we were just supposed to spend some quality time together at the Grand.

I am going next week too, but this time I have very little kids. I'd love to take DS swimming and I'd hate to drag them around the World in the rain. So although, I try to see the best of situations even in bad weather, I am really hoping for sunny skies so my kids don't get soaked and cold. And it's been so miserable in PA and we are supposed to get like 4 days of snow in a row, so I'd really LOVE for it to be nice weather in FLA. I'll keep my fingers crossed and the pixie dust sprinkled for all of us. :wizard:

Hopefully, your weather next week will be great. For what it is worth, the weather has been great here for the past three weeks other than a couple of hours for a brief rain period.

Good luck.

Living down here, I know the weather can change in the blink of an eye.. so I'm hoping the chance of rain lessens.

I've been checking the weather EVERY day. We leave on the 30th and today it does not look good. We were there one January week a couple of years ago and it was miserable. The rain was cold and just ugly. But then again we were there in January for a week and it was in the 80s. Right now it's not looking good, but will wait to pack until next week, right before leaving. Thank goodness we're at the WL, so we at least have the hot tubs to warm up in.

n2mm, I understand how you feel. And even though we live down here, chilly weather and rain are not something we enjoy either :( 43° F for DH and I is much too cold.. we love our :sunny:

Hey,

I just checked the weather channel forecast and much of the rain predicted for next week is gone. It is showing:

Jan 27 - showers 75/56

Jan 28 - partly cloudy 69/50 30% change of rain

Jan 29 - partly cloudy 73/51 20%

Jan 30 - partly cloudy 72/43 20%

Jan 31 - Sunny 68/51 0%

Feb 1 - rain 72/51 60%

Things are looking up!! Wooooohoooooo

cathymailme, I love your optimism! :sunny: I read that forecast and I see rain :(

Let's cross our fingers for CLEAR days and nights! :Pinkbounc :teeth:

:D Also hope weather is good but I'm down Jan27-Mar10. Also it is -12F here in Snowy Canada so even if it is only 60F it would be 72 degrees better. However, in my many many years of going to Florida overall they have been great. Usually if it rains it is only for a short time then gets hot and steamy. Leaving soon. BRR not soon enough

Gail, a "bad" day in Florida is usually much better than a good day back home.

I am loving the Florida weather compared to PA at this time of the year.

ITA and I am thrilled that you are loving the weather, and hopefully, everything else about FL.

Intellicast and Accuweather both are only showing showers for next Tues. and rain for Feb.1...no rain shown on any other days!! Of course, we'll have to see what it says by next Monday (or this afternoon, for that atter!) :p

And it looks like the rain will stay away for us... woohoo!!! princess: :wave2:

FYI, it is 78 degrees and sunny in central FL today. Supposedly going to rain a bit tomorrow and cool off about 10 to 15 degrees.
Isn't that terrible?

No it isn't. LOL

It won't ruin your trip at all.

It rains off and on in FL all the time. It's great when it rains because a lot of people leave the parks and the lines are virtually non-existant. Unless you , or a member of your traveling party is sick and can't stay out in the rain, grab an umbrella or poncho and stick it out. Most rides stay open, including Thunder Mountain and Splash mountain and they only shut down a handful of outdoor rides temporarily in case of severe electrical storms. And severe electrical storms don't last long.

I was there a few years ago and on my first day, it poured the entire first day I was there. My friend I was with and I pretty much walked on every ride. It was GREAT! We got soaked, but it was great.

In fact, IMO, some rides are better in the rain & gloom, like ToT and HM. :)

Worried about the weather in Florida??????

Heck no, I am more worried about the weather at this end and actually being able to GET to Florida.

We are supposed to fly out tomorrow afternoon and the weather is just not cooperating. We are leaving from Detroit.

Hopefully, we will make it to the POP Century for tomorrow night!
