Is anyone else worried about the weather at the World next week??

Pig Pen - - Sorry to have to ask you this. But do you think that you could cancel your trip and stay home?? I really want sunshine. I have had to endure a winter of snow and blizzards and really really cool weather. Now I just want sunshine for four lousy days. (Just Kidding - we probably cant blame you for the bad weather, I tend not to have good luck either).

Like I said before, I am getting out my poncho and putting a smile on my face.. I might have to start going to church, to pray for sunshine.

If you want to see something funny that just shows no one knows the weather really..check www.accuweather.com for Orlando or Kissimme weather for next week. I like theirs better actually then the weather channel!

Right now accuweather saysi1/31 (sat) will be cloudy with sun and then cloudy with rain at night. Not to worry yet... for our Thanksgiving trip, it was supposed to rain and rain... well it only rained Fri night for like ten minutes!

I quit reading weather.com because I did not like their forecast so I have been using accuweather. If you see a forecast you don't like just find one you do ;)

Heck our high today is 4 degrees and I don't even want to talk about the windchill factor. I will not let the weather disappoint!!

Gotta run, gotta plane to catch-see ya all at DISNEY WORLD!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

FloridaCat, could you please tell me more about this? My Hubby is a huge NASCAR fan and I'd love for him to visit the track.

Pigpen, I don't think it is you, I think it is me! (My family will be there January 27-Feb 2) Or maybe the combination. lol

But on the bright side, here is ND weather for the time I will be gone. Jan 27 - partly cloudy high -6 low -22
Jan 28 - partly cloudy high -6 low -21
Jan 29 - partly cloudy high 0 low -17
Jan 30 - partly cloudy high 8 low -13
Jan 31 - snow high 8 low -1

Boy does 70 and rain sound good!

Here is a link to DaytonaUSA. The car of last year’s winner is on display. Not many people are aware, but the winning car of the 500 is confiscated after the race and kept on display until the next year’s winner. There are movies about the birth of Daytona and NASCAR racing, huge gift shop with all the drivers’ souvenir stuff.
You can drive a NASCAR in an arcade. You can also take a bus ride around the track. So much more then I can list here. No true NASCAR fan can come to Florida and not see this as it is a fun day.
From WDW, take I-4 east to I-95, for just a short distance and get off the International Drive East exit and go 1.5 miles.. It is a 90 minute drive from WDW, if you head out after the morning rush hour, 8:30 AM
Lot of good restaurants in the immediate area. and my fun thing during “Race Week” s to hit Cracker Barrel, Denny’s and the like as the drivers and pit crews come in. I always tell the Hostess to sit me by some. I just love to hear them shoot the Bull. The unknowing does not recognize most of them as they just dress in a T-shirt and Jeans, but it is a blast. Even had many start talking to us as they are very fan friendly, unlike the overpaid Baseball Players that come down to spring training.
When we can hear the Rolling Thunder, we know spring is not far off. You can hear it from any place in town.

I am a little worried about the weather, but, it can't be any worse than June of 2002 when it rained all 4 days I was there, and as soon as I left to go home, it stopped!

I have become completely obsessed with the weather.
I have an Excel spreadsheet with the three different weather forecasters, spots for readings am and pm and I have it charted.
Will this change anything? Nope, but, I will know what to pack.
One year the weather forecast really was awful but, it turned out to be record highs and lots of sunshine. I am thinking positive here. :)

Florida weather is so iffy because we stick out 400 miles or so in water. The weather will be determined by which direction the wind is blowing. From the north, this time of the year, cold, from the gulf, muggy, warm. From the atlantic mild. So we could have all three in one day.

I post weather for my fellow WL VETS on the WL FQA part 3. I caompare three forecasts before making my report. And in many cases it is wrong by noon.

I will keep hoping for that weather miracle!

Anyway...here's the weather forecast here in Vermont beginning Jan 27 - I've seen worse (-25 last week not including wind chill). But ANYTHING in Orlando is better than this!

Jan 27 Light Snow 25°/8°

Jan 28 Snow Shower 15°/0°

Jan 29 Partly Cloudy 15°/0°

Jan 30 Snow Shower 19°/5°

Jan 31 Snow 21°/3°

I have been suffering about the weather next week because I LIVE in Florida and have had to WORK in this beautiful sunshine all week! I can't bear the thought of taking off work to go play in the rain! LOL! I really LOVE the bright blue skies and do not care how cold it gets as long as it's dry! It's hard to take nice photographs in the rain which is another hobby I like to indulge!

Like everyone else... we'll find something to do but I sure hope that my smile is the only umbrella we will need!:p

Pig Pen

I do try to remain optimistic, and with Accuweather changing like every 5 minutes, it is easy to do. I looked back on the chart and it is all over the board.

I was charting today, got all the dates in, hit refresh, and they all changed. I have no idea why I am so obsessed by this, I rarely care. LOL

HEY!!! No fair, you are arriving before me. ;)

I won't actually be at WDW until Feb 1. I have to visit various relatives first (my excuse for going...5 days with relatives, 4 days with Mickey)!

Thank goodness I have relatives in Florida. My co-workers look at me funny when I say I am going to Disney AGAIN!!!!

A word of advice - use the WDW lockers! Each park has them - wear your sweatshirts in the morning (bring the ponchos, too) and put them in a locker midmorning, when the temps go up. Later in the day, when you need them, they're rihgt there and you didn't have to lug them around!

We did this and it worked beautifully!

Great advice, thanks. We usually don't spend a lot of time in the parks. Spend more time at the resort.

Gail, a "bad" day in Florida is usually much better than a good day back home.

I am loving the Florida weather compared to PA at this time of the year.

These forecasts are leaving me cold!!! We will be in the parks Sat the 31st. Now it says sunshine:rolleyes: It changes constantly!
