Now that the YOAMD (or was it 2YOAMD) is over, I assume that the Dream Squad is no more . . . . I, for one, am going to miss the "chase"--yes, friends, it was a chase (and for those of you who have read MommaU4's recent trip report, there were strategies involved in getting DFP's). I was at DLR last Sunday and it just seemed like something was missing . . . . .

Me too!! I was on a mission to find those CMs!! Now I have no mission. Boo. :(

No more "OMG! THE DREAM TEAM! LET'S GOOO!!!!!!"

Miss who?? Dream squad what?? In the 4 times we were there...we never got dreamed! :worship: We saw them a few times, but nada.

It's hard to miss people you never saw (not even once!).

I will miss them! We won DFPs 5 times during the promotion and turned down a 6th set that we knew that we had no use for since we have won the two previous days and had more than enough FPs to last the rest of the trip. I, too, enjoyed the hunt--although I found that the times we won were the times that I wasn't hunting for them. It was an extra little game to play at DLR, and I was always hopeful that they might just be waiting at the end of a ride to offer me dream ears (i really wanted a set) or something else wonderful!

I have been told that all of the Dream Squad members have been able to go back to their old roles (or at least something comparable), but I will miss Jarrod (my fave because I won 3 times from him over 2.5 year) and the others in their white vests!

I will miss the stories of the families who were dreamed. We went about 46 times last year, no joke, so not getting dreamed wasnt a big deal. Getting to go that many times was like a dream.:thumbsup2 :wizard: . I just know that there are families who traveled far and wide and hoped to get dreamed, even fast passes or ears and didnt get anything. I think they should have given a little more.
but,thats the breaks a I guess.
I do , however like the new celebration. Everyone gets "dreamed" I for one will be partaking in the gift card to shop!! I have had my eye on those Fleur Dis Lis Rhinestone purse hangers in the watch shop. I love that store. :wizard:

Ohhhh mannnnnnnnn. I didn't know about those. I'm a sucker for Fleur de Lis stuff (it's my sorority symbol). Rats. The watch shop on Main Street?

And --of topic--I've been meaning to ask--how is the planning for the DL wedding coming?

Sadly, we never even caught a glimpse of the Dream Squad, so I'm not going to miss them. However, I really like the new promotion and will be coming on my birthday and bringing my son on his - so it's a sure thing to be dreamed this year :woohoo:

I have to say, I will not miss the YOAMD promotion. (and we were dreamed with fastpasses 3 times in the past year)

It was frustrating to see people walking around everywhere with fastpasses, ears, after-hours tickets or ears when you didn't get dreamed.....

I also became too focused on finding the Dream Team and not focused on the moment and enjoying Disneyland.

I am SO with you! :sad2: As a family had so much fun just with the excitement and possibility of the dream team finding us or us finding them (and we did a lot of the time!). It was a quest for us- so fun! My dh and I were just talking about how less thrilling our mornings are going to be in March when we go again. We are sad. On the flip side, we will be more relaxed in them mornings and maybe even sleep in a little instead of being there at opening every morning.

I'll both miss them AND be glad they're gone.

I shouldn't complain...we got a Magical Moment (that we didn't take advantage of, sigh) and we were upgraded to a suite on our last trip. But we didn't get, specifically, Dreamed. Turns out I'm not the biggest fan of random things like that.

It's kind of my problem (Danger, shut your eyes!!!!) with characters just wandering...if I somehow DO want to meet/see them, I might not no matter how hard I try! So I kinda like it when they keep them captive (Danger, I told you to stop reading), so I can choose to go to Mickey's house or the PFF or not choose to.

I like the birthday thing b/c with our situation, we can choose to go or not to go (with only money standing in our way, since none of our birthdays fall in a time that hubby cannot take off time), but if we DO go, we're going to get something lovely.

But I kinda did enjoy the thought that around the corner something interesting might happen. :) Just like we enjoyed running into Peter Pan randomly on our last trip.

 You chased the dream team? Tsk tsk, for shame! :sad2: :rolleyes1

I didn't say I chased them--although I might know some people who did. :rolleyes1 Now stakeouts--that's a whole different matter . . . . . .

One of those memories of working for Disney that will stay with me forever is the one of the Dream Squad nearly running across the hub while being chased by guests....good times, lol.

I almost won from them three times, twice at DLR and once at WDW. Darn that "employees of The Walt Disney Company are not eligible" thing.

But even though they're long gone, at least they've left their mark. If you ever hear a CM say they're going to "Dream Squad" something.......it doesn't mean what you think it does ;).

I won't tell anyone...what does it mean????

Eh.....I really meant to post that part, lol. Darn cold.

The Dream Squad is somewhat infamous among the rest of the Cast for effectively purloining stuff from other Areas. They took the Disney Gallery and turned into the Dream Suite, they used the Guided Tour building as a Prize Presentation room, and not to mention all the backdoors onto Attractions......We love them, but would much preferred that they not do that.

Thus, if you hear a CM saying they're going to Dream Squad something, it probably means that they're going to steal or take it for their own use.

Ex: The copier is out of paper, I'm going to Dream Squad some from the Foods office next door. or I'm due for a break, could you Dream Squad someone to cover for me?
