trying to choose a resort?

My husband wants to book 2 rooms at a mod. There are 7 of us and the 3 teenagers each need their own bed so I'm afraid that the rooms will be really small with the roll away beds.

I want to go for it and stay at a deluxe. I presently have a 2 bdrm at OKW on hold, but now I've been looking at pics of the Polynesian and it looks wonderful and each room has a daybed so that would give us 6 beds.

How does anyone ever decide??

Keep your 2 Bedroom!!! We took 4 teenage boys and my DD two years ago, and I would have gone crazy in the same room with them - they slept in every day and came in late every night, and they had their own door so they didn't disturb us - plus, they had their own bathroom!!! You'll love your king size bed and whirlpool tub as well, and there are three tv's, so no one will ever bother anyone else. And there's a beautiful, large covered patio with four chairs and a table to enjoy your gorgeous views and relax with a coffee (tea for me!) in the morning, and a nice drink in the evening.
Did you pay cash or rent points? Renting points would be at least half the price of cash - check out the DVC rent/trade board. We stay at OKW every year, we love it so much. And the teenage boys love the pool and community hall where they have lots to do for them (basketball, tennis, ping pong, air hockey, pool, beach volleyball and more). Plus the boat ride to DTD is wonderful.

I always go for a deluxe since my 2 teenage sons are the size of men, I like the extra room the deluxe rooms offer. I find the value and the mods make me feel closed in, even if we have 2 rooms. Since we go to wdw on our family vacation, I do like spending my time with them (they will be in college in 2 yrs).

We just got back from a trip... My BF with his 14 year old and his 12 year old. And me with my 13 year old and my 9 year old twins. We put the older three in their own room, and the twins and us in our room. We were all so happy to have the space. Keep the two rooms, I'm sure you won't regret it.

mmm...that is tough. I would try to figure how long it takes 3-4 people to get ready in one bathroom in the morning, especially teenagers. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I am partial-I love the Poly and other deluxe resorts, but the 2 bdrm villas at OKW are really great.

I believe a 2 bdrm gives you two queens in one room, 1 pull out sofa sleeper in the living room, and a king size bed in the other bedroom. So you really are down to 4 beds. I think they are pretty strict on the occupancy, so you would have to ask about roll aways. OKW has some of the largest villas on property, brightly colored and have that relaxing Key West kinda feel. It is definetely less expensive for the 2 bdm than it is for 2 deluxe rooms during most seasons too.

Keep in mind Wilderness lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, lower priced deluxes have rooms available with bunk beds and a queen bed, but I do not know if they are requestable.

We did the same thing and upgraded to the Poly and loved the queen sized beds. That is where we want to go again.

Just a word of warning, the daybeds are not that big. Most 10 year olds would be fine, but teens/adults will be squished.

You'll be fine on occupancy at OKW, as they allow 8 people. One BR will have 2 queens, the MBR has a king and there is a pullout sofa sleeper in the living room along with a loveseat (that a small child could sleep on). There is room to set up an aerobed, but you'll have to bring that. There aren't any rollaways.

The full kitchen at OKW is also a wonderful thing to have, especially with "growing" teens. Even if you don't cook while there, the full size fridge is great for stocking water/soda/adult beverages :goodvibes

If you have any questions about OKW check out the DVC boards.

I got the 40% code so my price at OKW is really good. I priced out 2 rooms at various resorts. The only deluxe that was less expensive than the 2 bedroom at OKW was 2 rooms at WL. If we get 2 rooms instead of the villa I will need to get 2 rollaway beds.

I would really like a 2 bedroom at the BC villas but they are booked.

I feel like a hamster spinning my wheels. I can't share with my husband because he doesn't care about any of it excpt for saving $$$. Thank goodness I have everyone here to talk to.

You truly will not be sorry to have the room at OKW - and being there will feel like a vacation within a vacation. :)

Can you keep checking for BWV or BCV? If you are that close to EPCOT and with the Boardwalk area it will give the teens a little more freedom and they still will not be far from your resort.

Oh, you are going to have a wonderful trip!!!!!! :)

We have stayed in the 2 bedrooms twice at OKW and LOVED them! All that extra space. Plus we really liked the resort. It's so quiet and relaxing. I would highly recommend it.

Did you try for a 2BR at the Boardwalk? The location can't be beat, it's probably a little more than OKW, but worth it since the teens can walk to Epcot, the Boardwalk, Studios, and catch the monorail to MK. OKW is beautiful, but if you're spending the money, why not include location into the picture. And definately go w/ the two BR!

definately go for the villa.
in addition to just 2 bedrooms, a 2-bdrm villa has a seperate living room, full kitchen (full-size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker) fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses & utensils, an additional TV (3 total), a jacuzzi in a separate room from the huge shower in the master (another bathroom in the studio portion), laundry washer & dryer.

really, is there any question? ;)
