Is anyone else a little tired of Vera Bradley?

Ironically-this is the main thing my SIL sells in her gift shop-its very popular in the South
I hate it:lmao:

BUT-its popular at the gym-those big bags for a gym bag and college girls

I guess it depends where in the south. I have family in SC and they aren't popular and neither are they hear in Florida where I am. Sure some people but them but compared to how they were selling, they aren't.

Someone mentioned Baggalinni's , I find those to be very unattractive as well. I have 1 coach, but it isn't brown and leather, it is solid black. I like a lot of different bags, sadly most are very expensive. I don't want to be that way, but if you put me in a room and tell my to pick out a bag, it will be the most expensive one. I don't even have to look at a name, I will just automatically love it. I don't splurge on anything else and I hate cheap looking purses.

I love my leather coach bags and until recently was not a fan of VB. The bold busy patterns were not my style. A few months ago I tried VB and LOVE them. They are so light compared to the coach. I have one "normal" size VB, and several accessories. And in October my Mom, daughter and I are heading to the VB colorful event in Orlando. I am pretty picky about the patterns and pick those that are more muted.

I have a friend who makes purses etc that look similar to Vera Bradley but she will make them in any fabric you want and for so much cheaper than Vera.

I'm not a fan but had to say that DD 10 just got Vera Bradley glasses (who knew Vera had glasses?) and she got an adorable fabric case.

Seeing as I live in the same city as their headquaters, no I am not tired of them yet. Huge employer in this area.

There are patterns of theirs that are very old lady-ish to me, but there are others that don't bother me at all.

DD15 and I both have some of their line. All of it has been gotten at the spring outlet sale.

I'm sick of Vera Bradley and Coach. Both are so overdone around here. Its mostly Coach now though. Vera Bradley was seen more a few years ago. Its just not my style. Coach I really can't stand. The logo bags are hideous. What's the point besides everyone knowing the are Coach. Coach leather bags seem cheap now. I have an old one I got in a thrift store and the leather is so much nicer. Sometimes I find old ones in thrift store and they usually still look great because of the quality. Of course they don't have Coach plastered all over them, usually just the creed tag on the inside.

I will never get sick of them. I don't necessarily love all the patterns, but for comfort you can't beat VB. I love all my other purses, but a Coach bag gets pretty dang heavy after shopping or walking a few hours.

Yeah, that was me. I do not find them attractive either. They are just practical and keep me very organized. Durable and all that.

I'll never own a Coach bag because I won't pay the price (even if discounted at TJMaxx). I don't dress up for work outside the home so it is not like I'm carrying a fashionable bag to work with me. My job is steps away from the kitchen so no purse needed! I did splurge years ago on a Fossil bag that I still have and love but it is leather and heavy-ish.

I have a friend who carries a new designer bag every Sunday! I have no idea where she keeps all those things!:faint:

I like VB bags. They are usually pretty functional if you buy the right bag and I like bright colors.

I have a baggalini that I carry on vacation. Smallish, with a cross-body strap and pockets placed properply for me to keep my money and cell phone easily accessible where I like it. ;) It's a silvery-gray so pretty non-descript in terms of looking OK with all styles & colors of clothing.

Expensive leather bags (ie-Doonye & Burke, Coach etc.) ...not my thing.

lol. There isn't a bag out there that will keep my organized, hasn't been made and never will. :thumbsup2 I only have 2 bags, but I would love more, but even though I love expensive ones, I am cheap. When I do get one, I carry it for around 4-5 years and then I buy another one.

Nope, not sick of them, love them in fact. I've had the VB hipster style for about three years now, and just bought a new pattern prior to my May Disney trip. I use it daily, and it wears well. Love the hipster for my Disney trips, as you can adjust the strap to wear cross-body, and my Kindle fits nicely in it for when I'm doing Disney solo, and I can read if dining alone. The only thing I don't like about VB are the large number of paisley prints. I hate paisley!

Bought a D&B leather bag from QVC about a year ago. Got it as a Today's Special Value. Thought I'd treat myself after finding out I had breast cancer and needed chemo & a mastectomy. It's a pretty bag, but I hate carrying it. So heavy! I think I should put it up on Ebay, LOL.

I came pretty late to the VB party. I only started buying them about 4 years ago. I like them because they are colorful and not too heavy. As for the patterns, I usually either love them or hate them. My dd17 is has a few now as well. She always used to call them my "old lady" purses, but then she found a couple of patterns that she liked.

I love purses and bags and own many, many, many of thm. I have cheap ones and spendy ones. I buy and use what catches my eye and change them up often. My mother is one of those who buys a black purse and uses it until it falls apart. I can't imagine that and she can't imagine having the amount of purses I do.

I agree with the posters who are "over" Coach bags. I have a few of the classic leather ones. They are all over 10 years old. The newer ones are just not my thing.

If it's any indication, the VB store at the Mall of America was very busy yesterday. My ds thought it was funny. His words, "Why is this place so busy??? All they have are purses."

:lmao: Sounds like a typical boy (man) response. LOL

We were at the MOA VB store a few weeks ago and we could hardly get in the door! :scared1: They need a bigger store! :rotfl:

Not my style but they are fun and bright. The only problem I have is seeing some of the women here at work carrying 2 or 3 clashing bags. A green/grey and a purple/pink at the same time. Ouch, my eyes! :rotfl:

It's still all the rage for high school/college girls here (NC). My daughters each have several. I never liked it, but then I read that the mini hipster is the perfect size for taking your Nook with you...and it is!!! So, I now in my "old age" have one too!!! :rotfl: The mini hipster is perfect for my needs, but won't be buying anymore of the line for myself. I still buy it for my girls.

I never like them in the first place. I do like a nice leather Coach, not the printed ones, just a good leather bag or wristlet.

I still use my older VB because I love the patterns but I haven't liked any of the patterns in the last year or so.

BUT, I'm definitely over Coach! I have a very old Coach (hmmm, it's almost 20 years old) which I love - black leather!

I never really understood the love of VB. I guess they just never appealed to me. Seemed more of a status thing. Now I'm reading how functional they are, and that is a big plus for me. I love functionality in a bag. If I can get good looks in it as well, so much the better. I have two Coach bags, leather, that I don't use because of the weight of them. But last year I bought a new Coach bag that is grey sort of shiny leather that I love! It's not too heavy, you can't really tell it's a coach unless you see the little dangly thing, and it is very functional. I got it at one of their outlet stores and paid what I think was a very reasonable amount. As for VB, I say to each his own.

I'd honestly never heard of Vera Bradley until I moved to FL. It's HUUUUUUUUGE down here. At first I thought it was only popular with the, shall we say, early bird special crowd, but my university bookstore has an entire section devoted to VB as well. Not my personal taste to use bags with such loud prints, but someone's buying them!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Aren't we the politically correct one!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I love the lightweight VB wallets--the ones with the little strap. I hook it onto my belt loop and pop it in my front jeans pocket and I have my hands free and my $/cc safe. I also have the passport cover, the toiletries hanger and a few other travel items. The happy colors make me smile.

I'm not a fan of the big purses though. Oh, and they have a great dayplanner that is sweet that I picked up last month. :thumbsup2

My favorite thing is the big duffle. I have it in Symphony in Hue (which seems to be on it's way out) and it holds everything but the kitchen sink.
