IS an Annual Pass (with DVC discount) worth it for 2 visits??

Is AP (discounted Save over $300 with DVC discount) worth it if I am doing 2 trips in the time frame?? I just think with the ability to hop, go to a park just for dinner or 1 ride would be awesome. We will be doing two 10 day trips. (Maybe another added trip if DD and I can get a major flight deal-we will do a Bday trip with just us girls) I think $1500 USD is a great deal.
I think this will be the only time that we will get APs --Other times we do the 10day no expiration tickets(we can stretch those) But, I thought for this 1 year it would be cool to have the freedom to enter and exit as I please without "using a day"

If the total of your time at WDW is more than 7 days, I would say the annual passes are the way to go. I've always like the convenience of being able to come and go and the annual passes give you free parking (except for seasonal passes) and can save 10% on some meals and purchases. That doesn't sound like much, but it adds up pretty fast.

Before we moved here we always got the length-of-stay passes and that worked, too.

Your break even point on a DVC AP is around 8 days, so if you are doing 20 days total, with the possibility of more, it's definitely worth it. Don't forget to get the Tables in Wonderland card ($75 for AP holders) for a ton of restaurant/counter service discounts.

I would compare it to the chart of all the ticket prices.

Find the number of days you plan on being in the park and look at the park hopper prices and compare it against the AP price you have been quoted.

There is a break even point, but I don't recall what it is.

I wouldn't necessary buy the AP's just so you can go to the park for an hour or two on any given day.

We have always done this. We get AP's in late July and go for two weeks, then we schedule our next vacation for the two weeks before the AP's expire. We get minimum four weeks from them, but sometimes we will do an extra trip if the price for rooms is discounted enough and we can get a fair price on airfare. The biggest "cost ineffectiveness factor" are the extra trips you may take between the 2 planned trips just becasue you have an AP.
It is nice to just hop to a park and go to dinner, catch a night time show, or ride something that you may have missed.

We are at WDW for the weekend and picked up our AP renewals with DVC discount at the MK Will Call window yesterday. Not sure what the promotion is but this time they last for fifteen months rather than just twelve.

Thanks for your words of advice.
I compared prices and the 10 day no expiration would cost me $400 more. Not to mention, it is for 10 days and with the AP I will be eligible for some discounts. So, my mind is made up--I am going with the AP! (If I did not get such a great DVC discount, I am not so sure though)
So, I am excited
DH is indifferent. He just amuses me

Does anyone remember when the APs usually increase in price? We were at WDW in September and used old passes that we had. WE usually purchase the DVC AP if we are going to be at WDW for more than 10 days. Annmarie

Another thing you can do to save money is get discounted passes then upgrade them to the AP. DH and I had 8 day park hoppers which we upgraded to DVC AP for $216. We bought our 8 day park hoppers from AAA.
