Curious about your take on how authentic the food at Alfredo's is.
The items I have had I found to be authentic. The lasagna is just like we make at home with the bechamel and meat sauce instead of ricotta cheese, with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. This is the way the western part of Sicily makes their lasagna. We also like the fettucini and my kids like their red sauce, they don't like any red sauce at any other restaurant in Disney. When they have ordered I have always sent back their order and gotten something else, they no longer order anything with sauce at Disney except for Alfredo's or Palio
Other things we have had that we liked
Calamari
Anything with their Bolognese sauce
Grilled veal chop
Breaded and fried veal chop (not always on the menu)
I do think that $6 for one cannoli is outrageous and I refuse to order that, I also think that their appetizer for $24 is overpriced. I don't order the tiramisu because I have never found one that we like better then the way my sister in law (she is from Palermo) makes it, Alfredo's included
My sister on her very first trip to Disney dined there and her and her husband had a blast. My brother in law is also from Southern Italy and didn't move here until he was in his late teens. They both enjoyed the food and had about 3 of the people that worked there go to their table when the server found out where they were originally from. Those 3 people were from a neighboring town
We were there last year with a total of 8 people, 6 of which grew up with Italian cooking, and all enjoy it very much
This is one of the restaurants that you have to decide for yourself if you like it or not. You will get as many people saying they liked it and just as many that didn't
I stayed away from it from a long time due to the reviews here but finally decided to try it and liked it. When we are in the mood for Italian and don't want fancier offerings, like Palio, we dine here
