Is a Standard Studio at AKV Worth The Extra Points For Just 2 Adults?

.... Compared to a value studio? Its just my gf and I. The points increase during a value season is minimal, but a point saved is a point saved! I've tried to look for pictures of a value to compared the 2, but I can't find any! Is the standard studio significantly bigger?

Do you already have the value studio booked. If you do I would just keep it. The value room is smaller but you have a chance at a savannah view, although right now, it's an empty savannah. I've stayed at the std view rooms before and I'm hoping to switch to either a savannah or std view room for December.

For march, we're staying at OKW, but in september we'll be staying at AKV. If there's really not much difference between a value and standard, we'll just stick with value to save a point.

the value is alot smaller.

would think 4 adults would be crowded.

now it is only notificable if you have stayed in a standard studio before hand.

if you haven't go for it.

remember don't bring alot of stuff - there is just no room for alot of stuff. there is only a few places for your things.

only bring what you need and will USE. be sure your reservation says dedicated - you certainly don't want a lock out with 4 adults.

I would go with the standard studio just to say that I've been there and know whether it fits with my travel style or not. That way the next time I need a room and save on points I know that a value would work for me.

The Value studios are 316 square feet, non-Value studios in Jambo House are 365 sq ft. and the studios in Kidani Village are 366 sq ft.

A Value studio is the same width as a Jambo House non-Value studio but is about 3 feet shorter. The kitchenette and bathroom areas are identical. The difference is in the length of the living/sleeping area. Due to size constraints, there is no storage bench in the non-Value studios. Given how small the dresser drawers are, we appreciated having the large storage drawer in that bench, but then we like to completely unpack on our stays. Even with just the two of us, we needed that storage space.

The other difference is the view. A Value studio could face the Sunset Savanna, the pool area or the parking lot. A Standard View studio in Jambo House will face the pool area. A Standard View studio in Kidani will have a view of the pool, garden area or parking lot.

Another factor is how much time do you plan on being in the room. If you plan on most of the time in the parks then go value. If you do plan on spending a bit of time in the room go standard.

OK, well, I am a points miser and try to stretch our points any way we can (especially now with the new point charts). IMO a value studio for 2 people is plenty big enough. My family of 3 stayed in one this summer pre-cruise (so we had a lot of luggage and used the sofa bed). We also do not spend a lot of time in the unit. We're either at the parks or the pool most of the time. (For another comparison on the size, the regular lodge rooms are 344 SF so the value studio is still slightly smaller.)

It's about 50 sf smaller - which I don't find much smaller - for 2 adults I can't imagine you'll miss the extra 50 sf. I stayed in one with 3 kids in October and we were fine.
