I have heard, in various postings, on the DisBoards and off, of a price increase coming somewhere around March 1-5.

Several posters said that their CM had told them that it was coming.

Anyone know for sure?

Is it official yet? :confused3

My CM said that there was a price increase on March 5th of '07 and to keep it in mind since I was talking about an add on. However, he didn't come right out and say that was the definite date.

Considering the popularity of DVC and the fact new resorts are coming online soon (GCV, CRV and Hawaii) I would suspect a price increase in the near future.

My guide told me yesterday that a point increase was coming March 5th.

Hi tomandrobin, just to be sure...Did your guide say that date was definite? I called my guide back before I posted on here and he mentioned the price increase last year (which I already knew about) but he said he wasn't positive that another was coming around that time frame.

I'll confirm with her when she calls me back.

Wouldn't they want everyone to know the increase was looming to push those on-the-fence folks to sign on the dotted line? I feel like there was lots of advance notice and emails, messages, (I also recall a paper mailing)... from DVC before the last few increases.

I agree. It would make good sense for DVC to announce an increase in advance to spur add ons and new members. I wonder if, when new pricing inevitably happens, if it will be tierd. Meaning that AKV and SSR may stay close to the same with FBV and potentially CRV being priced higher.

We've been on a waiting list for 25 more BCV points since last summer. Makes me wonder if they have the points but are just waiting for the price increase to resell them to me. Hope they hurry up and come in...not that the extra $75 or so ($3 per point) would make alot of difference.

I am convinced that any increase at OKW will be closer to $10 than to $3. The extension costs $15 per point and the OKW price was only increased by $4.. Now that the extension, after Feb 29, will be $25, I fully expect a $3 across the board increase and an increase at OKW to $106 or $107 to match the new prices of SSR and AKV. :scared1:

This harsh treatment of those who choose not to take the extension will dramatically increase the percentages of those who accept the extension at the other resorts when they are extended.

How is this harsh treatment? And why would it motivate me to accept any other extension? My resons for not accepting the extension aren't changing when they send me the option for BCV.

If it's now a longer use resort then yes I expect the prices to go up to the SSR, AKV point, that's only fair, but it's not "harsh treatment" and it's not going to change my views next time. I mean I expect they would do the same "re-pricing" with BCV and/or BWV.

It makes sense to me. The OKW contracts that DVC is selling all have a 2057 expiration meaning that the extension is already built in, and at $106 per point it will still cost less than it would to buy resale at $81 per point, add the extension, and then pay closing costs.

I'm not saying I'm thrilled with how much prices have jumped, but I don't think it shows "harsh treatment" toward those who didn't take the extension. Its just buisness.

Thanks for the info! I figured my guide knew for sure, but was just being vague about it;)

We want to add more SSR in the future, but it hit us today that after the summer, if we buy at SSR it will be full price, no discount, do incentives!

She told me that out UY (Oct) has the second most points left, which was 69,000 points.

Some of the use years will sell out before the others.

Good thing that is a large part of their inventory! When we added on at OKW, my guide told me that our Dec UY had very limited inventory, but expected to have more within a few weeks due to some ROFRs they picked up.

Hopefully, when you go on to add in the future that trend with the Oct UY will continue. I would hate waiting for points just because I am so impatient, but it looks like we might face that down the road.
