Is a lap baby considered a "Passenger" according to TSA?

And it's not like you're going to a third-world country where that stuff is unavailable....any CVS or Walgreens in the US carries the things you need.

When I travel with my kids, I put that type of stuff in our checked bag. Yes, bags get lost or delayed. But only a very small percentage. Your much more likely to encounter a TSA agent who is either uber-enforcing the rules or is uninformed and makes you discard all those expensive items. The TSA is known for randomly changing the rules. And there's no arguing that 'the website says'. You do what that agent tells you or you don't fly.

The TSA doesn't randomly change the 311 rules. I do agree that there are individual TSA agents who don't know or understand the rules, which is a different issue.

Well, for every rant, there is always an Airport Securuty Screening cheerleader . . . :cheer2::cheer2:

With the need for 10 days worth of baby sunblock, honestly, I'd either invest in a shopping trip (rental car, grocery delivery service, towncar with a grocery stop) or I'd check a bag. And since you are carrying special baby stuff, again, I'd go with one of those choices.

There are certain times that traveling with carryons only is appropriate, and with a new baby...it's not really the time for it.

Burt's Bees makes (or made a few years ago) an AWESOME shampoo *bar* and their bar of 'baby" soap is also awesome. No need for the baggie with those.

Thanks for all of the replys!

I finally contacted someone at ALB and he insisted that 3 baggies wouldn't be a problem and like others mentioned the TSA agent doing the bag checks wouldn't know that DD is flying as a lap child.

Even while having this reassurance, I also verified with him what was considered "medication" and not restricted in the 3-1-1 rules as long as it was declared to the TSA agents. With his confirmation that even OTC meds are considered "medication" to the TSA, I should be fine!

I packed all of our 3-1-1 supplies, even with extra sunblock for our first 2 days and being able to exclude the medications we only need 2 bags anyways!

I will however ask a TSA agent when we fly what the rules are and report back, it's just annoying not having any clarification directly from the TSA!
