Is 8 Park Days Too Many?

My family has done 2 week stays several times as well as shorter trips. Long trips are absolutely the best. As others have said, you won't feel as rushed and will be far more relaxed. You will have more time to relax during meals, too. Hope you have a great time!

It doesnt have to be 8 full from RD to close days. You have the luxury of not havinv to cram. Sleep in, resort and just dinner then Fantastmic for example. Morning water park. Mk only afternoon. We are also doing 9 days. Planning in down time takes away alot of time. Which we have :)

MK is 2-3 days tops to do everything, epcot is a 2 day Hs 1 1/2 day Animal Kingdom 1 day , so 7 days tops i think but downtown disney Espn zone too,

No way. We have done 2 weeks several times and it's still hard to leave. It's less hectic when you have all those days in the parks. Plus, it's much easily to make changes on the fly band take to have more resort time.

We always do 8-9 days. We sometimes get really tired near the end, but by them we have seen so much it is easier to slow down and relax. We always go in saying that we can take it slow, but it is so exciting to get there. You can't help but try to cram it all in. We have done Sea World once and are going to Universal this trip. I think 8-9 days is perfect. This way, if we only 'plan' one day at AK, and it is way too hot (I always find this park and Epcot to be the hottest) we leave, go to DTD or to the pool and come back another day. It's nice to have the time to not feel pressure from the 'plan'.

We did 10 days before and loved it! The 2 days per park is awesome and you don't feel rushed. The only thing we didn't like about it was that we'd taken up almost our entire Christmas break with the trip so we didn't exactly feel rested going back to work...(we drove from Northern Indiana :faint:) But I would do it again in a heartbeat anyway!! :rotfl:

Last year (and again this year) we are spending 9 days in the parks and 2 full days at water parks. We spend 3 days at MK and 2 days at each other park. It's nice to know if you don't see something on the first day that you're heading back. You don't have to worry if you miss a parade (or if the parade is rained out), because you'll have other chances. Our 2 weeks always fly by and I wish we could stay longer. We have 10 day tickets.....and have been known to use that 10th day the evening of our arrival just to stroll down Main Street. Thinking we may use it as a 1/2 day on departure day this year.

We are on the west coast and go to WDW about every other year. When we go, it's for 10 days. If we want a fast, rushed vacation, we just go to DLR. But Florida is our slow time.

I agree that 8 days sounds great!

We went in August 2012 (just me and the kids) for 15 nights, and had 10 day park hoppers plus water fun & more. We had tons of down time just relaxing and enjoying our vacation!

I love longer trips! We did our first on the last trip, we were there 13 full days, that was a lot but fun, we had plenty of down time/leisure time, I didn't feel rushed for anything and went back to the parks numerous times each, if we didn't get to hit a few things in say MK one day we didn't worry about it because we knew we would be back a few more times. I'm thinking only 10 for our next trip but either way I feel as though with the longer trips if you really want time to do it (if that's ever possible in Disney lol) then the longer the better so you can work at a slower pace and truly enjoy your time. Disney is known to be a planned to the T vacation and very go go go.. Sometimes to be able to have more time to spread it out so it's not so go go go is nice :)

Eight days is the most common number for us, probably half of our 16 trips being exactly that. In Oct we're doing 9 which we once found to be our max. A few years back we had 9 days at BoardWalk after which we switched to POFQ for 2 more. In the cab ride over to POFQ we agreed that if we were to go the MCO at that moment we wouldn't be sad. Now, we enjoyed the last 2, it certainly wasn't a burden, but 8 or 9 does it for us.

It would be too many for me if I stayed all day and the park days were back to back. I personally need breaks from the crowds but if we get rest periods some afternoons and maybe a day or two doing other things then I'm good to go for any number of days.

We always stay 11 days and hit the parks every day. We do take mid day breaks and stuff, but we are in the parks every day of our vacation. :goodvibes

You'll be fine:) my family did 12 days at the parks when my kids were 10 & 7. It was a 2week trip. End of July- beginning of August and I was so glad we had that much time. We would do morning EMH and go back to hotel and swim / nap. Then go to another park at night. There's always something new to see at Disney.

8 days of parks... Yeah... Too many for us....some of the parks are not whole day affairs anyway, AK we rarely go at all....prime park for us is the MK and after say 3 days there it get old...

We do break from the parks noonish and take complete days off from the parks...8 days lets you enjoy the parks at a leisurely pace but we need time away from the crowds, people and excitement... It's a vacation, not a marathon..

Depends on your family.

We like to re-ride. So 10-12 days is awesome. We don't take days off (too excited to be there) but we do fit in afternoon breaks. DH also likes "sleep-in days". We don't wake up much later than normal (although with no alarm clocks), but we move at a slow, relaxed pace and get to the park around rope drop or shortly afterwards.

Even with 10 park days, our first trip we didn't get on every ride.

Why don't you play it by ear? Buy the minimum now and then decide once you are there? I like feeling like I can spend just half a day in a park. The price difference is pretty minimal.

Alternatively, what about 5-6 park days and then add waterpark fun and more. It's just a tiny bit more than 1 day entry into a waterpark. Then you can do mini golf, the other waterpark, and Disney Quest. My son in particular loves arcades and during our last 12 day trip, we spent 2 full days at DisneyQuest and loved it. (i know that's way too much for most people though).

I

Do you think we could enjoy 8 days at the park? I'm thinking DS may not go some days since he won't be as excited about things as DD and I are. He says he is going for the rides and the legos (help me! :crazy2:). DD and I are going for the experience, for the rides, to trade pins, to people watch, etc, etc, etc.

we are there for ten days in September. using a pair of the 4 day StH tickets that gives us 8 park days plus 2 down days. well 7, since the current promo ends while we are there. I suppose I could add a second MK day( our least favorite park) instead of a DTD/down day in the middle of the week.

as it stands were are in each park 2 days( except MK) and I am fine with that( we don't do the water parks) I won't feel the need to rush rush rush, my world will not end if I cannot get a FP+ for X ride the first day. our arrival day is also early enough that if we reaaaaaaly wanted to we could visit a park for a few hours before our Jiko dinner reservation( we arrive on our anniversary and since V&A doesn't do Dining Plan....)

I am doing 8 park days! Two will be half travel days (although we were smart and got a very early flight to Orlando and an early evening flight back home). We also have a night dedicated purely to Downtown Disney to unwind a little. We originally planned to Universal Studios for the weekend, but with the costs and my lack of interest compared to Disney, we nicked that idea. Now I feel I have more time to see all the parks by revisiting them.
