I'm definitely on the lower end as well lol. I'm just irresponsible with money when it comes to going to Disney
Yeah, if your alternative was a Disney wedding, you honestly should just buy DVC…probably saved some money! We got married in our front yard with like…10 people total…so that’s where we saved money.I'm definitely on the lower end as well lol. I'm just irresponsible with money when it comes to going to Disney. What can I say, it makes us happy. But also at the same time with us holding our wedding at WDW I think it made even more sense.
My parents were about to book their room for Riviera for our wedding dates and she was quoted 14 grand with a cast member discount for a 2BR for a week. I broke the news afterwards to them that we were covering their rooms with our points and that they only needed to pay for 2 nights instead of the full week (unfortunately don't have enough to cover the full week since we're booking multiple 2BRs and a GV) but it just reinforced that DVC made sense for us with our travel habits.
No that's not the alternative.. the Disney wedding is still happening, it's both LOL. But when our friends and family come from out of town, we're putting the wedding party up in a 2BR/GV and then our families in 1/2BRs at RIV.Yeah, if your alternative was a Disney wedding, you honestly should just buy DVC…probably saved some money! Hopefully your DVC wedding was the same.

Next May haha, ceremony at World Celebration in Epcot and then reception at California Grill for BrunchWhen is the wedding?
Middle age isn't a mathematical term. 0-29 is young. 30-80 is middle aged. 80+ is mature.....72 is mathematically not middle age, unless you plan on living until age 144.
I’m in my 50s too.I'm in my 50s and the draw of DVC and Disney has remarkably diminished. I've never like crowds. The food isn't that good. The attractions are Been There Done That. My kids are adults and I'm not seeing grandkids in my future. I don't really want to walk that much. I'm a DVC member who does like housekeeping when I'm on vacation, so hotel rooms are superior. We've been traveling internationally a lot, which is much more interesting to both of us. We use DVC points for Hilton Head during snow season, which is quieter.
Brilliant! What an exciting 10 months ahead!Next May haha, ceremony at World Celebration in Epcot and then reception at California Grill for Brunch
Well….it is at least sure to be magical! No that's not the alternative.. the Disney wedding is still happening, it's both LOL. But when our friends and family come from out of town, we're putting the wedding party up in a 2BR/GV and then our families in 1/2BRs at RIV.

Even then, if one has any discretionary income & they are determined enough, it's doable. Start a DVC fund, save up & buy smaller/cheaper resale contractsI mean, how many average jobs out there can realistically afford DVC?
My internal chart must be out of wack; this doesn’t look familiar to me!Middle age isn't a mathematical term. 0-29 is young. 30-80 is middle aged. 80+ is mature.....
and are we invited? When is the wedding?
I like this calculus.Middle age isn't a mathematical term. 0-29 is young. 30-80 is middle aged. 80+ is mature.....
Thankfully I should get a fair chunk of money back.. plus a salary increase at work will help offset it but yeahhh it's painful to say the least. Now add on the fact that I want 200 Poly pointsWell….it is at least sure to be magical!
I think people have to have pretty steady incomes to afford those annual dues which will go up and then the buy in of course.I mean, how many average jobs out there can realistically afford DVC? There are probably higher percentages of DVC owners who are MDs, lawyers, and higher up Amazon workers, etc than in any given average city.
That's one thing about medicine. Pretty darned steady no matter what else is going on in the economy.I think people have to have pretty steady incomes to afford those annual dues which will go up and then the buy in of course.
