i watched the you tube video and it looks pretty smooth and calm?? Just wondering if someone has neck issues? How about Barnstormer?

It is smooth but it does move back and forth so if you get a swinging train car it can get jerky

I have never ridden Barnstormer so I can't comment on it, but having recently experienced 7DMT for the first time, the rocking mine cars actually smooth out the jerkiness that Big Thunder Mtn suffers from.

I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth 7DMT is.

Very smooth. Smoother than Space Mountain in Disneyland IMO.

The only really jerky part on the ride is the attachment to the lift hill which is standard on coasters with them.

only jerky ride at MK I find is BTMRR and Space.

7DMT is much newer than any of the other rides mentioned. Space Mtn dates back to the early 1970's. (though it has had some restoration/repair work since then.)

Meanwhile, BTMRR is supposed to be a bumpy old mine train. That's the theme of it, no? It is also fairly old at this point.

In my experience though, the worst part of many rides is the VERY end, when there is a final brake. The car is almost at a stop, then wham!

I think mostly folks have nailed the 7DMT experience. The cars do swing, but the ride is fairly smooth. I can't recall if it has that final hard braking though.

I think all of the above rides come with a warning not to ride if you have certain health issues.

7DMT is the smoothest roller coaster at MK. After we rode Barnstormer and Space we mentioned it felt like a chiropractic adjustment. Not so with 7DMT.

I don't find 7DMT jerky at all. I have a neuro condition and can't ride Space without issues because of the jerky nature of the ride, but I didn't really have any issue with 7DMT. You know your body better than anyone else does though, so in the end I'd take whatever info you can get and then use your gut whether you think you should ride.

I have a friend with neck and back problems and she can not do it to jerky for her to ride.

but I would talk to your dr ask your dr what they think about rides, most dr have some idea about rides at parks and can let you know I would not do rides that ______ or rides like ______ will be fine.

Fun fact* - Jerky was originally the name of the dwar....er, little person, who would become Grumpy. "Jerky" just didn't test well with early audiences.

(*Actually, entirely made up. Fake spews. if you will.)

The 7DMT cars are built on a swivel that helps to minimize "jerkyness". As you go around a corner rather than being pushed to the outside of the car, the car itself swings out and you primarily feel a downwards force. Smooth.

As stated, it's not particularly jerky, but there is a little bit of whipping action that can happen. I'm very tall, so my center of mass is quite high with my shoulders, neck and head way above the back of the seat. I do experience a fair amount of thrashing about if I don't slump down significantly (not an easy thing to do). But that's just physics in action and not nearly as noticeable if you're under 6'. If you are concerned about neck issues and "jerkiness" ask to sit in the first car of the train. There is less movement there. The last car in the train experiences additional motion, as excess movement (energy) from the front cars is translated back into the rear cars. Physics again.

Alternately, if you want a bit wilder ride, sit in the last row of the last car.
