Is 7 days worth it

As it says in the title ,we usually go for 2-3 weeks but only have 7 days off left , is it worth it for such a long trip ? not only time wise but money wise ?

We usually go for 2 to 3 weeks, but next may a friend and I are going for just a week. We usually do one park a day and usually stay offsite and do pretty much everything. This time though, we took the opportunity to stay on-site and literally just focus on Disney and park hop and just take our time.
We may go across to universal for a day, it depends if there is anything new in potter land.
Cost wise....eeek, I could have gone for 3 weeks and stayed offsite for the same price, but we're trying a new experience this time.

that's a really difficult question to answer...

it really all depends how much money one has and how much of it a person is willing to spend..

for me, it's too much to spend on one week....
but in truth, the airfare is too much for me to spend on two weeks at WDW, yet i do because recently that's all the time we've had..

i believe that Wayne has done it a number of times - fly to florida for just one week...at least i seem to recall him doing that..

so i can't decide for you what's worth it or not...only you can decide that..

We have done one week. When we are also used to 3. I would rather do 1 than none. We had a week of fun and it felt a lot longer

We usually do anything between 3 weeks and 6 weeks and head off for 4 weeks on Thursday We have visited for 7 days on a couple of occasions and would do so again like a shot if I got the right price for flights when we had holidays. As long as you plan, you get loads done and as sovietsong said it seemed much longer than a week. We came back feeling as if we'd really had a holiday where other types of short break just seem to disappear in a flash.

I have done 1 week a few times before kids lol and we had a great time. I have always been lucky that I got it cheap so was worth it for us. 1 week is better than no week .

That's how we feel too!

A few years back then I definitely wouldn't have done a week, but that's partially because the cost doesn't justify it. When we went last year we had planned ten days originally, but then booked two weeks because it actually worked out cheaper!!

We've also found there's very little difference in cost between one and two weeks.

However this year, we found a good deal for a week, and we only have a week off work, so we went for it - we actually paid more for a week in a nice hotel in Portugal last year and to be honest, we couldn't find another holiday destination which was as good for the price!

It's very much a personal choice, but we think its worth it

We stayed for a week once. Like most have said, a week is better than no weeks but airfare prices mean that we'll always be looking to stay at least 12 nights.

If it were for me, I'd say that it's not worth it.
it's almost 2 1/2 days of travel time, that's too much for me for just a week in florida. Not to mention the jet lag, and the fact that going for just a week is a very good reason to speed up the pace in the parks, and it's not my way of doing the parks at all.

Now as was said, one week in florida is better than no week in florida.

One week is not cost effective, but if you're willing to spend that kind of money, then it's worth it. It's just not something that I would do, but lots of people have done that, and really have enjoyed it.

Weigh the length of the flights/travel against the length of stay. Weigh the financial cost against the opportunity of saving that money and make a much longer stay next time (not always possible I know)


I don't think it's worth it from a financial standpoint; But if you only ask about how enjoyable a 1 week trip is, then I'd tell you to go ahead and book. One thing is for certain, you'll have a ball.

People go to New York for 3 days and nobody questions that so why not a week in Orlando Yes I know you need to buy park tickets but if you have the money to do it then as others have said one week is better then no weeks. We did 10 days one year as a quicky to see the shuttle leave and we got so much done as it was in Feb and great weather, not too hot, not too cold, just right to keep on going all day.

I would cut my limit at 10 nights, would just be too far to go for 7 nights.

We have done 5 nights before because they all the time we had. We have also done 7 nights and regularly do 8 or 9 nights.

If its not an only trip it's not really an issue as it doesn't matter if you don't see everything.

Yes flights cost the same regardless of length of stay but all other costs are proportionate.

We enjoy the short trips just as much as our 14 night stays

As Beth says we have done it a few times. We do try stretch it to 9-10 days if poss, but if thats not possoble then as said 7 days is better than none. The last time we did it we all agreed it felt much longer than 7 nights, yet when we go for 25 nights it flies by and always feels much shorter.

Money side of it, only you know your finances but if the money is apare I wouldn't hesitate.

Thanks for the replies -my main thinking has kinda been brought up by queen disney -we were going to go to New York for 3/4 days but am looking at the guts of £2k for that and can easily do a week in Florida for that and it's only an extra couple of hours there I keep telling myself lol ,actually toying with the idea of maybe going over the tampa side and explore a different side of Florida this time so rushing about theme parks isn't a big concern this time

We had originally planned New York next month, having looked at hundreds of holidays. However, 5 days in NY versus 7/8 in WDW for a similar cost, with better flights and flight times meant that WDW won.

I'm not worried about jet lag - you're gaining time going over there so you be tired but you can totally power through tiredness. Ditto on the way back, but it's lost sleep which can be caught up.

I was back at work the morning after we got back last year and will be headed to the airport straight after work on the Friday (staying at the airport) this year, returning home on the Sunday at back to work 08:30am Monday. It's doable

For me a week at WDW beats a week at home/work! I personally wouldn't go for a week because it takes me that long to adapt and adjust That is unless I had upper class (VA) or Club World (BA) seats on the plane and could stretch out and sleep.

There isn't much difference in price from 14 to 7 days though, so from a purely financial perspective it's not the best value in the world. That said, a week at Disney is always a good thing!

We gave in to temptation with it being the last day of the Disney offer and booked 7 nights for next march! We are going end of October next year but I couldn't cope waiting 17 months! in October we are going for 14 nights with my dd and her bf and will be doing universal, ioa, Busch and seaworld and see all the new attractions that will be open by then, so the march trip will be just disney plus will be there again for the flower and garden festival which I love, can't wait!

Thanks for all the input ,I'm certainly swaying towards going for it ,as a 2nd question I'm thinking of flying into tampa as we usually try and catch an ice hockey game ,apart from Busch gardens is there anything else of interest in the tampa area ?

From a quick google it looks like there is an aquarium, zoo, and several museums. Busch seems to be the biggest attraction by far!

There's much more to do in Orlando if you're only there 7 days.
