Is 6 nights too much for 2 year old?

We will only be going to the parks three days and then to a waterpark one day. Has anyone had a bad experience because the toddler gets too warn out?

I hope not, we are doing 7 nights. This is our first trip with a 2 year old so can't tell you for sure. We are just going with the flow.

3 years ago we went with a 2, 6 and 8 year old. Our DD 2 was great. We went for 6 nights. We actually tried to extend it after we got there, but our airline charged too much to change our flight to a couple days later.

We just made sure that we came back to the hotel for either nap (which only happened once) or swimming. We brought our stroller and DD2 slept in that during our park days.

Would I do it again if I had a 2 year old? DEFINITELY!!! Except I would go for 9 nights rather than 6..... :thumbsup2

We went on a five night trip when our youngest DS was 2 1/2, and he did great! We could have easily stayed longer. We did pace ourselves and made sure to take an afternoon break/nap every day. It was so much fun!!

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Thanks for all the replies. We're not going 'til May but I'm always anticipating my next trip to Disney. I can't wait to see how my daughter reacts to everything.

We did 3 nights with an 18 month old and it was too short. We found that you can't tour as long or as fast with little ones, so a longer trip actually works better for us.

We took dd for the first time at almost 2 1/2. She did great and we stayed for 6 nights.

The only thing that surprised and I wasn't expecting was she FREAKED about the crib in the room. She ended up sleeping between us and that worked well.

Have fun!

We went 3 years ago with our then 2 and 4 year old DD's for 7 nights. They did great! We went with the mindset that we would not be at the parks from open to close and that we might have to take a break during the day if we needed to. The younger one actually did better then the older one! She loved the rides and the characters. The only problem we had was on any rides that had thunder (there's more then you think!). She would completely freak out! I even had to skip Illuminations because she was afraid of the noise. I would do it again without hesitation. It's great because not only did she love it, but she was free! ;) Now she's 5 and we are going in about 3 weeks. Can't wait to get back there!

We did DW with our DS when he was 2.5 for 9 nights and he loved it! Like others have mentioned previously, you do have to pace yourself. As for naps, we tried to go without the naps the first two days and found that was just too much for DS... talk about cranky city, even in the Happiest Place on Earth! hehe
So we did nap breaks back at our resort, CBR, and found he was a much happier camper! Some nights he would stay awake until 10 PM (2 hours past his bedtime) and other nights he would fall asleep in his stroller.

Just play it by ear, and if your little one gets a little too pooped, just do a little more relaxation then actual park hopping. I'm sure you guys will have a blast!

We did it back in 2003 with our then 2½ and 4 year old sons. Definitely pace yourselves and do the much-needed pool many times. My sons had a great time although there was some no so well moments - falling asleep at strange times, for example. Since we went in the fall, we couldn't do the "break up your day for a nap" since all but Epcot closed early. I'm looking forward to going in October now with a 2½-year-old daughter too!

Thank you! I was wondering the same thing about our trip next summer. I feel much better about our length of stay. :sunny:

I'm glad everyone had such great experiences with their little ones. I'm such a Disney freak that I'm just hoping my daughter will love Disney too.

In the fall, with my 15 month old DD, we stayed 8 nights. I actually wish it was longer. The longer the better, IMO, because you can take your time and do the parks at the child's pace, taking breaks each afternoon, etc. This time, we are going to stay 7 nights with our 2 year old DD and 5 year old DS. I wish we were staying longer! :sunny: Have fun!

I sincerely hope not too! We are going for 14 nights with a 5yo, 2yo, and 1yo!!!

Although I appreciate we will have to make the pace rather slow ;)
