Hi everyone,

We first visited Disneyland sept 2011 but only had 3 days there. We loved it but wanted longer there. As we have to far to come (all the way from uk) we were thinking about coming back over to the west coast, but doing another 5 days and 5 nights at Disneyland!

Would this be too long? We love wandering and exploring!!

I don't think 5 days is too long at all! There is so much to see and do, I would take the time to stop and watch the entertainment or have a nice lunch or dinner or even just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. 5 days would be perfect to get a lot of stuff done and still have time to enjoy yourself. I would totally do it! :thumbsup2

I'd say it just depends on the family. I know a family that goes for 5 days twice a year. I've never stayed that long, but I always feel rushed on a 3 day trip as well, so I'd say go for it!

We love wandering and exploring!!

I think 5 sounds great for that.

In general 5 days is a good amount of time when you come during a busy period too. So depening when exactly you are planning for it may be perfect.

Five days tooooo long? Heavens NO, maybe not long enough. We do at least five days, preferably seven each trip. Have stayed for nine days once, that was an adventure. I believe it was our third trip we stayed for seven days for a first time. Using the park maps of DL and DCA, we went through each section of each park. We rode every ride and went in every shop, taking time to actually stop and look at the diffrent things. I believe the wife and oldest boy did a "Mickey Search"(books available at bookstores and disney gift shops for information) at the same time. We spent two days performing the step by step park inspection, it was quite enjoyable. When it is time to take a break and rest our feet, we ride the DL RailRoad all the way around the park several times observing as much as possible. It is amazing the things you can notice doing this. Things you walked past but, were distracted by something and failed to notice. Also the wife now uses RideMax for each visit, using this as a guide for a rough schedule for each day. Five days tooooo long? Hardly long enough...:cool1:

No, 5 days is not too long. We usually go at least 7, and really enjoy ourselves. I do not like to be pressured on vacation, and by going 7 days we always have a good amount of time to see and do everything we want with lots of rest time.

Lovely - I am hearing all the right things......5 days it is!

Thanks

One thing we have found very useful traveling, is a small wareproof backpack/daypack. We carry small items such as snacks, as well as have room for sweatshirts or lite jackets. In the side of this we always pack several sandwich size and several large ziplock bags. These are very useful if riding water rides for wallets, cameras, etc. Also useful for storage of small rain ponchos for the water rides as well as getting caught in the rain...Relax, Smile, and be Happy...:cool1:

When we go it's usually for atleast 7 days... We break it up with day trips to Legoland, Knotts, Universal Studios, or visiting family. We'll end up with 5 total days in DL/DCA, just not all in a row! :crazy2:

We've been for 3 days at a time for my first three visits to DL. It was not enough, but I didn't know this until I finally had a 5 day trip. We are currently planning another 5 day. it was PERFECT.

Really helps if you don't get to go on a ride for some reason..knowing you can hit it up another day :)

We are going to do walk in walts footsteps tour as well. Has anyone done this?

As someone who routinely does 12 days at Christmas, no 5 days isn't too long.

Walk in Walt's Footsteps is a fun tour, and you get to see the lobby of Club 33. We enjoyed it, even though we knew most of the trivia.

Our last trip was for 14 nights. Like many Aussies who go for that long and use Anahiem as a base and do tours to LA and SD, Legoland from there, travelling that far you want to have a good visit :cloud9:. Aussies even have 14 day passes available, so 5 days is not too long :thumbsup2

Being a lawyer, I'll give you the lawyerly answer on this... Is 5 days too much? Yes - and - no.

If you are going for 5 days mid-week in low season, your wait times will be minimal, and you may find yourself repeating rides over and over, just to fill time.

If you are going for 5 days high-season and 2 of those days are over the weekend, then no, 5 days is not too much time.

We love to wander & explore too and we always take 5-7 days in the parks. I could even do more! :lovestruc Enjoy your trip!!! :)

Long? NO WAY!!! I do 8 days at a time haha. So no, that's actually a perfect amount of time I think :)

Not at all :)

The first time we went DD was 2, we went for 3 days, not enought time, when she was 3 when went for 5 days, not enough time, in Dec., now 4 we went for 6 days and it still wasn't enought days and the parks were pretty uncrowded those days (it was the week after Thanksgiving). Granted we got to ride some rides over and over again (she has her fav's), but there is alot we didn't get to do also.

If you can swing it, do it, you won't be bored at all.

Our first trip we were at DL for 6 1/2 days and we didn't do and see everything and were really tired, it took us a while to recover from the long flight from Australia - this time we will have 9 full plus 2 part days and are planning to do and see eveything, revisit our favourites, see all the shows, take it easy by the pool, sleep in if we want and let our kids spend half the day on Tom Sawyer Island or in the Animation Academy if they want.

I think you should rename your post "Is five days too short?":lmao:
Seriously five days is a wonderful amount of time.
