Is 5 days enough for you?

5 is plenty. I would keep the universal day. I might even drop it down to 4 park days with hoppers, a universal day, and a day to relax at the resort and/or explore DTD. You probably aren't going to want to exhaust yourselves every single day on your honeymoon. You're already going to be exhausted from months of wedding planning and the big day. Plus, you'll want some newly wed alone time. Maybe even schedule a spa day or something in lieu of the 5th park day.

I went 5+ in the beginning but now I tend to stick to 3-4 park days.

During one of those long trips (7 day trip not including departure day) I had 5 WDW days and 1 IOA day. The last day I was only in a park two hours and I was done. It was just too many days, even with my first day being a non park day and one day being a late start day mid trip.

I think with Universal you'll be fine with just 4 WDW days. You can always add an extra day to your WDW portion if you don't use your 'other' day to lounge or visit something else.

If you only have six days just do Disney. Universal /IoA is amazing , but we've found we need 2 days to do everything there & stay on site for the perks , so worth it. It's just me & DBF & we always do 2 days at Universal, 6 at Disney, which is plenty!
Have a great time!!!

5 days has been enough for my sweetie and I. We're a bit older and we both work.........we've found we can cover all 4 parks with an added MK or Epcot day just for fun. We usually do one special event for each trip too.........last Sept it was the Fort Wilderness Segway tour. We've found 5 days is not to short but more than enough and always leaves us wanting to return............and isn't that what we really want.............to RETURN to the Happiest Place on Earth! 8-)

Happy 4th of July pixiedust:

Dh and I don't have kids and I would do the extra day at Universal. In fact, I would buy hoppers and do it this way:

Day 1:MK
Day 2: Epcot
Day 3: The water parks and DTD at night for shopping and a yummy sit down dinner (we QS in the parks because we don't like having long meal in the parks except for epcot). Fun and relaxing way to recover from the parks
Day 4: Split of animal kingdom and DHS
Day 5: Universal with 1 day 2 park tickets-spending the night the night before for the express pass, or buy the limited express pass.
Day 6: free day to pick a park

If you have never been, you may find yourself surprised by what you like best. In theory, DH and I are the prefect fit for spending hours walking around Epcot. He enjoys drinking around the world, we both love to shop, we enjoy the music and we both enjoy people-watching. However, we find epcot pretty boring. Instead, we fell in love with the waterparks (and now always spend at least one day), floating, swimming and having some drinks and we both love the MK. Dh likes AK and I like DHS. The hopper will give you the freedom for movement, in case you end up loving one park and disliking another.

I know many adults enjoy the characters, and parades but we couldn't care less. Between fastpass+, showing up early, riding during parades and staying after the fireworks, and skipping the true "kiddie" rides, we knock out everything we want to see easily.

For us, no. But, we go infrequently AND the water parks are must do for us. We could probably do 5 days without the water parks IF we could give those up (fat chance).

2 at EPCOT
1 at MK
1.5 at AK
.5 at DHS

FWIW, we're spending 8 days at Universal/IA/Sea World/Aquatica in a couple of weeks. I think there's plenty in Orlando to either do Disney exclusively or do no Disney at all.

I would say if one day is done at Universal an Express Pass is a must.

I did a 5 day/4 night trip in 2009. I did it as follows:

MK - 1 day
Epcot - 1 day
AK and HS - 1 day (half day each)
Universal - 1 day
The fifth would have been a second day at Universal but I decided to travel 2 hours each way to Jupiter where I used to live.

I think the reason most are saying just Disney is the cost factor. A fifth day at Disney is just $10 more a person and one day at Universal is over $100. But me, I couldn't go down without seeing both.

I go solo, no one holding me back, and find 6 nights (5.5 days) in parks sufficient (I get hopper passes too). That gives me two full MK days, two and a half at Epcot and a day for AK (I hate HS so at most I hop over for a cupcake and leave). The one time I did 5 nights I felt rushed, in part because it was Dec and I was trying to see all the gingerbread displays and the deluxe resort trees on top of doing the parks).

Because I have hoppers, I also leave my morning park if I accomplish everything I want. One ride on each ride I like using rope drop to do a lot of walk ons in combo with FP. If I can get a second ride on a fave in after lunch, great. If lines are too long I hop to a new park or DtD. AK never takes me a full day.

I would say a day a park is not too bad; it will at least let you get a feel for everything, and you can see SOME stuff. We did 10 days a few years ago and that was plenty... I was so tired at the end! DD and I have basically 4 days this fall, and I'm thinking it won't be enough to really see everything, but I'm hoping to see at least some things that we want to. It's all the time I can spare from work so it'll have to do.

I agree! Many people skip universal, due to cost, and Uni is a great park. For me, it is cheaper to go to Uni than to leave feeling I need to plan an immediate return because I missed out on things I wanted to see, especially if this trip might be a one and done. Life is so unpredictable. The next time you return you may have children and will be touring a whole different way, or this may be THE trip you take to Florida in your lifetime. If you can carry the cost and it appeals to you, then I say heck why not?

We always do 8 days so we can have some relaxing days built in. Going strong to a park each day is exhausting, with or without kids. You'll come home needing another vacation!

5 days at the parks is enough for me, and I would take that 6th day to relax at the pool.
And I'd put that day in the middle so you can be refreshed for the second half of your trip.

I go once a year so 5 days is fine with me. But if you don't go that often I would bump it up a few days. Take that Universal day and make it a Disney day.

Without kids (like us...) 5 days is enough. We are doing 5 days in November and feel that's plenty of time. Though, we have been more times than we can shake a Mickey at, so at this point we don't feel the need to go really hardcore. :hippie:

Keep in mind that as far as rides go, every park other than the MK is pretty much a half day experience, I think your plans should be 4 WDW days and 2 Universal days.

I agree with saving universal. The trick with uni is to stay at one of the onsite hotels to get front of the line passes. IMHO its not worth the hassle of a 1 day visit. There is so so so much to do at WDW you will just get a taste in the time you will be there. Plan another Florida trip that's just for Universal...

When we went to Universal we stayed onsite and needed 2 full days and our third for extras.

As far as Disney if you go in with a plan you can get enough done in a day to do a park a day. Most of our trips have been 5 days or less. My best trip was the one without hoppers because we went to a park concentrated on it without rushing off. Since you are both adults you will probably want 2 days in EPCOT.
