Is 5 days enough for you?

If your going to go back again sometime I think 5 days is enough. If this will be your only trip or you wont be back for a long time then do more then 5. We are only going 5 days our upcoming trip but we go every year.

5 days is enough for me. I'm actually doing just that in August 5 days at Disney and 1 at Universal. Although I agree with a lot of the other comments its definitely easier with no kids, and also if you've been before and don't have to do everything.

Five days is more than enough for me, I tend to get tired of the pre-booked dining and FPs by day 4. Though I'd like to do two days at Universal to see the Harry Potter stuff and everything else with the FotL passes...

In my opinion, depends if it's a once in a long time trip? (Does that make sense?) if it is then I say do the one day at universal for something different. DH and I went on 2012 doing a few nights at universal and around 7 days at Disney. We didn't have kids yet too so we took our time enjoying. I liked that we got to see a little of both. I haven't been back since then.

I have done many, many 5 day trips. Doesn't mean that I didn't wish they were longer! But the fact that I have done so many 5 day trips proves that they can be done. While extra days won't bust the budget in terms of park passes, each extra day can easily cost $300 for the room and another $300 in food and miscellaneous. I do get to a point where extra days are not worth $600 for me.

I'm a commando, so 5 is good for me. 4 open-close days in each park, and one day in the middle to relax ;) For you and your husband, I would save Universal for another time, and do 6 days at WDW. It will allow you some extra wiggle room to relax, swim, shop, and just enjoy your time together. Commando-style definitely isn't for everyone, and no way to spend a honeymoon, at that!

Thanks for all the tips... just keep in mind that we are from New Hampshire, and not rich, so "save it for another trip" isn't exactly practical for us...

So basically, you're all telling me that if I get a 5 day ticket, and then decide to do two more, it would only be $40 for the extra 2 days? So why would anyone buy 7 day tickets? lol

Our first trip was one day at each park and one to revisit a favorite. We had no "kids" (DD was 15) and we did just fine. My second trip was longer because I wanted it to be, but we did shorter days and a more relaxed pace.

We're only doing one day at unviersal our next trip (and not staying on site) but we're going in October and Touring Plans seems to think we can do everything we want to do just fine in one day.

The 7 day tickets are the same price whether you buy them up front or add two days to your 5 day ticket. The longer you stay the less expensive each day becomes - to the point where the increase is minimal

I would go for 6 at Disney World and save Universal for another trip when you can stay on their property and go for 3 nights. We have ONLY done 5-6 nights when we have gone in late Jan.

Not at all. DH and did our first trip last summer- we don't have kids. People told us over and over: 7 days is too short. You want a two week trip. I wish we'd had the finances to listen (flights are so expensive!) but we're booked for a fortnight next time! Bring on 14 days! (We're likely not leaving the Disney bubble in that time either.)

5 days is plenty of time for 2 adults. I have done it in 4 days but that was exhausting. We had 7 park days on our last trip and by the last day mom and I were looking at each other like we are kinda bored! Five days to me is perfect. I'm not sure about universal, but since it's your honeymoon you may want to do 5 park days and take a pool day to relax.

Our fist trip back since the kids were little was 8 days. My husband told me it was too short, so the next trip was 10. For us, that is the perfect number of days. With that said, we tend to stay an average of 8 days. If I was given the opportunity to choose 5or 6, I would choose 6 because there really is so much to see in each park. WE don't like to breeze in and out, hitting just the attractions, but we do not approach Disney like a Six Flags so I guess that is why we take so long. LOL!

I have never been to Universal, my DGD still gets sea sick on a lot of the motion rides, so we are waiting til she is ready to give it a go, but when we do we are planning 3 days at Universal and will stay onsite.

If this is a first trip I really would suggest the 6 day pass so that you can enjoy the parks, and still have a little time to enjoy your resort, drop by DTD, and not leave exhausted.

Is 5 days enough for me?

No. We like to do a lot more than you can get done in 5 days. But can you have a perfectly nice time with 5 days? Sure.

Admittedly, I do not care for Universal- at all. But regardless, the price of a single day, 2 park ticket is more than I'd be willing to pay no matter what. I love WDW- but I'd never pay the single day price there either.

Btw this is exactly why WDW prices their tickets this way. When you compare tacking on a day to buying single days at Universal, the Disney option becomes much more tempting.

I've only stayed over 5 days twice but I was very young

Now usually the trips consist of 1-3 days, however in October we are going 7 days!! And I'm a little nervous if I'll handle it energy wise
Doing everything can be daring but yes 5 days you can get it all!! Just remeber to sit and relax every so often lol

It really depends on what you're hoping to do. 5 days is never going to be enough to do "everything," but you can accomplish a lot and as a pp said, if you're coming back, it makes it easier to miss things.

I've done 6 nights/5 full park days for the last 3 years and have been pretty satisfied - there are always things I had planned to do that I didn't get around to, but I figure there's always next year. That said, however, I'm extending my next trip to 7 nights/6 full days to give myself some extra time.

The idea of having a day at the end for makeups/do-overs is something I like to do, but I always have hoppers so I don't have to compromise on just one park for hitting skipped attractions or things I want to repeat.

I have yet to go to Universal; I really think that depends on how much you REALLY want to do there and how you feel about spending the money on a one-day ticket. If I went, I would have to have admission to both parks, because my must-see would be all the Harry Potter stuff.

You may be surprised at how tired you will be. Going from opening to close is the only way for us to see everything we want at MK and Epcot, and we have been multiple times. AK and DHS are about half day parks for us. So you could do it in 4, but you will be exhausted. 6 is probably right to make it feel like a vacation and not boot camp. Universal needs at least 2 pretty much full days. There is really a lot to see and do. Skip it and do it on a different trip. Congratulations!

Could not agree more!!! :flower:These trips are far for leisurely lounges on the beach - they can be exhausting and 6d feels more like a vacation!!!!!

To do justice to both, I would spend all 6 at Disney this trip, and devote 2 or 3 days at Universal another time.

We did a 5-day Disney trip, and when it came time to decide on the "leftover" day, we had to go with Epcot. But we realized we could have used one more for MK too, because we rushed through it, were exhausted, and still didn't get to everything. Yes, we had our 8yo DD with us, but we would have felt the same as a couple.

The other side of this is, we have been to Universal twice, the first time for one day while on a Disney trip. We didn't get the park hopper and were exhausted after just the one spot--with only half the experiences. The second time, we went for three days (paid for two days got the 3d free) and really made full use of the first two days (8 am to 11 pm). We still needed the third day for leftovers.
