DH, DD(11) and myself going for 4 nights staying at all star movies. Plan on eating breakfast in room 2 days and resort 2 days, Lunch and supper all counter service except for a supper at Sci Fi and a supper at Chef Mickey's.....I have everything else paid for including set aside for souveniers. Is 400 enough for meals??

Most likely that will be sufficient. If you check on www.wdwig.com they have menus there with prices so that you can see for yourself what meals might cost for your family. I always allow $100/day for my honey and I. This always covers our meals, bottles of water/soda, mickeybars and what not. Last year I think we only went over that one day and then the other days we didn't break $75 for the day.

Overall, I came home with $200 out of our food budget still in hand. It was a good thing. If not for that money, we wouldn't have our chihuahua, Beanie. Long story....

Disnee Dad Says.......................................... You will be fine, we are a similar family and do close to what you do. Four days should ring in between $300 and $350.

For one adult and two kids (11 and 8) I budget $50/day. It has always been plenty.

$50.00 for all 3 of you? Where do you eat? That just sounds so little, or did you mean $50.00 per person for a total of $150.00 per day?

The $400 should be fine, if you are careful. We eat breakfast in the room, if we eat out it is for lunch since it is much cheaper than dinner. We bring snacks and water with us. Since water is very expensive. But you should be fine...

quilt4luv Yes that's $50 a day and we eat pretty well. We eat breakfast in our room, mostly counter service lunch and dinners, but we do have one or two character meals and a couple of sit down meals each trip.

We eat our sit down meals at lunch, which are cheaper than dinner. Sometimes DD and I will split a double cheeseburger since she loves cheeseburgers and it is hard to find them on kids menus. It is more than enough for both of us. We drink water instead of soda and buy refillable mugs at our resort or bring a cooler for our soda. We also have plenty of mickey bars and snacks throughout the trip as well. Check www.wdwig.com for her menus to plan where you want to spend your money and your time.

You can spend a small fortune on meals at WDW and personally I would rather spend that money on more days than eating at some of the finer restaurants. I would also tour the park and eat counter service rather than waste a lot of park time eating.

thank you, my biggest fear is getting there and not having enough money. We have printed the menu's off and once I budget for everything we will owe including foods and souveniers we will still have 150-200 left for incidentals. Hope this sounds like it will work to everyone, I hate the not knowing.

We did $50 a day for a family of four.. we aren't big eaters, and we just aren't into dining as much...
