Is 3 days a good amount of time w/ FOTL and no kids?

We are making a quick trip to Orlando at the end of the month. We have full days on Sat. Sun. and Mon. Is that the right amount of time to allow at USO/IOA? Kids won't be with us and we have FOTL access. Will we feel "done" w/ US by the end of the 2nd day? Or sooner? Should we plan something else? I've never been there and I was wondering what you all think.
I guess I'm thinking we will enjoy a more leisurely pace and take in some details and maybe a movie or something.
I'm also trying to decide if we should buy 2 days worth of tickets. I heard someone say that w/ FOTL and no kids, you could actually do both parks in one day. IS that right? I doubt you could do that, but I don't know.

I would never want to take less than 1 day per park. There is SO much to do and take in. I have never had all the time I want.

Three days is a good amount of time, in that, you can spend a day at each park and then go back and do your favorites on the 3rd day. IMO, 3 days is the minimum time for Universal Orlando. You don't really have time to enjoy the pool, hotel, City Walk, etc. sufficiently, but that's what the next trip is for!! We always start planning our next trip on the day we start home!!

3 days sounds good considering there won't be any kids with you. The first time we stayed at Universal, we stayed 5 nights at RPR (supposedly have stayed for 7 nights) but we thought it was waaay too long of a stay for 2 parks only. So we left RPR and moved to Disney.

Then the second time, we stayed for 4 nights. Perfect length of time to stay. Enough time to have fun at the parks and have enough time to enjoy the resort. The kids were with me at both times.

3 days is perfect. One day each for both parks and then a day at both (or go to both parks each day...whatever you want to do!) works well. That way you can learn the parks and see what you like best.

With FOTL you may end up repeating rides after a while (unless you take your time to soak everything in and relax) BUT that's not always a bad thing! With Men in Black: Alien Attack (in US) you'll find you can ride this over and over trying to beat your old score. I'm STILL trying to beat my personal best of 555,100 (without the tips on this site). So I go on several times each visit. It's fun

But with 3 days you can relax and not rush to get as much done as possible. Now THAT'S what I'd consider a vacation!

I tried to take my grandmother to Universal Studios one day and felt so rushed to get her to everything we thought she'd like (she'll probably never go back...unless she asked us to take her again!). And that was just ONE park. Of course she couldn't run around like crazy and that somewhat affected that. It was still fun...just a bit rushed.

If you get bored, visit Sea World Florida (SWF). It's only 5 minutes down the road on I-4 heading west. They have the new water front area.

I think 3 days is a good stay. ! day for each park then yoru last day go back and do the things again you really enjoyed. We did noth parks in 2 days last year with kids but we had FOTL access since we stayed on site. Otherwise I dont think it could have been done.

2-3 days with front of the line is great...no kids, you will probably be done in two days easy...at av ery leisurely pace.

Enjoy some great meals at City Walk in the early afternoon!

Oh, yea! I'm getting excited now. Time for a movie alone? A cool theme park alone? I feel almost guilty! Hubby and I are calling this our preview trip- previewing USO to "see if the kids will like it." If we think they will- which I'm sure they will- we will take them later. Right now, we would have 2 out of 3 kids that couldn't meet height requirements on most rides. So NOW for us, LATER for them.

We're staying 4 nights. We'll get in at about noon time on Thursday. I was thinking of doing Wet N Wild first. Then have Friday, Saturday and Sunday for US and IOA. Can we do Wet N Wild in one afternoon?

Three or four days at an onsite hotel is great because you don't have the insane pressure to get to the parks at the opening gun (although you might want to anyway if you're really excited).

Don't forget CityWalk. You get a Party Pass with your ticket, so you can stay up late partying and then sleep in in the morning.

Another thing to do besides the parks is just to lounge by the pools. They're all pretty spectacular with great bar and food service.

We did two and one half days with FOTL two years ago and with two kids and that was just fine. I don't think you will have a problem.

If my wife and I had 3 days without the kids, we'd be happy if we never left the hotel. Romantic dinners, cocktails, lounging by the pool. Heck, the theme parks would just be a bonus. Enjoy!
