Is 180 plus 10 still in effect?

We have a split stay coming up for Easter break. The first night April 12 is booked through my sister (DVC) and the rest 13-17 is booked through mine. I am trying to make reservations for the entire stay (within the 180 plus 10 from the first night) and I was able to book the 12 and 13 (the 2 days of her reservation) when trying for the 14th it lets me pick the day but then says "We're sorry, there is a problem searching for reservations at this time." If I try an earlier day it works. I'm confused. Any thoughts?

It will treat your stay as 2 separate reservations. You can book the April 12th at 180 days, and the rest at the 180 day mark for April 13th (whatever day that happens to be). We just had the same thing happen and I was able to book all of the days of the 1st portion of the stay at 180 days but then had to wait for the new booking window for the 2nd half of our stay. If you're having trouble, call. I could not get any of the +10 days to work using the website.

Just to clarify in my simple mind:
180 + 10 means that I can reserve at 180 days BEFORE my vacation starts + make additional reservations thru the following 10 days, right?
Just want to be sure it doesn't mean I can count back an additional 10 days (so effectively reserve at the 170 day mark), right?
TIA

Thanks. I guess I have either never had this problem before or they have changed the computer program and i was able to "get away" with it before but not anymore. I have also never gone at the craziest busiest time before and probably just didn't mind not getting the perk of plus 10 but really was looking forward to it this time. Thanks again for the info

Yes. 180 days from the day you check into your Disney resort. You are able to book dining for that day plus the following 10 days (or until the date if checkout which I just figured out). It is only available to resort guests.

Further clarification 180 days from today is April 12 if you have a seven day reservation that starts on April 12 you can now book dining for your entire stay. Meaning the first day is 180 days away but the last day is 173. This means you get the jump over those not arriving until later or staying off property

I was actually told today by a CM that they were having lots of technical issues today with the 180+10. They were not working online, only over the phone. I do not have a split stay, but was only able to book 180+4. The rest had to be done over the phone. I even checked again tonight thinking they fixed they system, and I still can't do anything past the 4 days. Over the phone, no problems though.
