Hi, Just trying to figure out what time to get to MCO for our return flight. We are renting a car from Alamo. Our return flight leaves at 1:40. If we plan to arrive at 11, is that enough time to return car and get where we need to be? We've never rented a car before so not sure what returning it entails. We will be flying on a saturday if that makes a difference. thanks! :)

When you arrive at the airport follow the signs for rental returns, and pull into the garage. There will be signs to tell you where to go. Someone will be over quickly to check the car and give you a receit. Usually takes about five minutes. It is very easy. You will have more than enough time.

The last time I rented a car there (Dollar) it took forever to return the car. Over 45 minutes just to get my car to the front of the line to be checked. So long in fact, that my car was considered late and I was charged a late fee (I did get it removed, but had to go to the counter in the airport to do it).

Luckily, I am anal about arriving early and thus has plenty of time to make my flight.

The process at Alamo-National is very quick, they usually have several people taking returns. Like the pp said follow the signs to Alamo-National and the return should not take more then a few minutes.

2 hours 40 minutes will be more than enough time. We only had one issue with Alamo on our last drop off when there wasn't an attendant at the drop off area to check cars in. If you were confident with everything you could just leave the car there. If you wanted a receipt, you had to wait. We were returning early so we wanted a receipt to make sure there was no change in the charges. We had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to show up.

Alamo has a very fast return process and then you are only about a 5 minute walk to airline check-in.

thanks everyone! It sounds like getting there 11 will give us plenty of time which is fine incase security lines are long.

My experiences with Alamo's return have always been positive. Last year I went with Dollar and I had to wait about 20 minutes in the return line.

Either way, I always drop the wife and kids at the terminal with all of the luggage so they can wait in line to check in for the flight while I return the car. It requires a lap around the airport to get back to the rental car return entrance but it is worth it as we do not have to get the luggage from the parking garage to the terminal.

Are you using RAC for your luggage? If so, you won't need more than 2 hours at MCO, even if there is a back-up at security. We use Alamo a lot and have always had a very fast return, not more than 5 - 10 minutes.
