We have used cabs on the last 3 trips down there (we can save lots of money by not renting a van for the entire time) and so we know to avoid the white/non-metered cabs and also know the approx. rates from place to place.
When we got into a cab at the BWV to go to DD, the driver (who didn't speak English very well) said, "No meter, OK? How about $10 or 11 with no meter?" I told him that I wanted the meter and he grudingly turned it on. He said, "I always give my customers a choice. You don't want to save money, it OK with me."
I knew that the ride was no way that expensive and we were not going during a traffic rush period. The actual rate was $7.25. I didn't say anything but asked for his card. I plan to call the company but haven't done it yet.
The rest of the cab drivers were great.
