For some reason it will occasionally pop into my head "what if there was an earthquake right now". Bit of an irrational thought as the odds are so astronomical of it occurring. Still not the place you want to be while riding through Star Tours.
I'd WAY rather be on just about any ride at Disneyland during a quake than at my random home.
When seconds count, the police are only 5-15 minutes away.
Police aren't that far away at Disneyland. Seriously.
A true honest concelled hand gun permit owner would not willingly disobay the posted rules of an establishment. They would respect the private property.
Absolutely. Totally. If someone disregards rules, they are showing themselves to be a DIShonest, untrustworthy, gun owner.
My husband's best friend is armed wherever he's legally allowed to be, *except for when he's at our house*. He knows that it's our rule, and he respects it. If he didn't, he would have proven himself to be a rotten friend and he wouldn't be invited over. He would absolutely follow Disney's rules. To do otherwise would show himself to be an irresponsible gun owner.
The moment my son got tall enough to start really looking around their house (which he's actually never done, as he respects privacy), my brother told me that they have several weapons. He invited us all to go shooting with them. We declined. Our stepdad introduced us to guns, and that was enough for me. He still thinks it's something political with me (which shows he doesn't know my "politics" at all LOL, and I'm still not sure what politics have to do with guns), but it's not just me. It's my husband, a former gun owner, firmly setting that overriding rule. My brother does NOT carry when we go to Disneyland.
If I ever see a gun on someone at Disneyland I'm reporting them. I might call 911 right then and there. If they are undercover, that can be worked out. If they aren't supposed to have it, they can have fun working that out.
Last year I went through a four hour tour of a cave in my local area. It was a tour with only four people (all in my family) and it was through a natural cave (no man made structures throughout it). Just as we are at about to go into a part of the cave where you need to lay on your chest and squeeze yourself through a portion of the cave no bigger then your body, my brother in law says "What if there was an earthquake right now?" I damn nearly killed him.
I might have to look him up and have a talk with him just READING that. Holy moly. One of the first Jack Reacher novels has a scene involving a cave like that, and I nearly went into hysterics reading it.
Honestly, if we could get a concealed carry permit in California, we would never be without a weapon.
Except for at Disneyland, where the property owners say you're not allowed to. Right?
Guns are to threats what fire extinguishers are to fires.
My husband and many of his friend would absolutely disagree.
In THEIR experience, it's a firestarter. If you carry a gun, you're going to show it when trouble starts. And then it starts MORE trouble.
Again in the Jack Reacher novels, he discusses how people carrying a gun aren't going to use a knife. Most aren't going to use words if you have the weapon.
DH experienced young-male-in-car aggression more than once in his 20s, and it got very testosterone-y, and the ones with the weapons brought out those weapons. The ones without used voices. Voices worked just fine.
Once past it there's nothing specifically guiding visitors to the metal detectors, such as ropes or barriers.
The CMs are the ones that guide people they choose towards them. If you weren't guided, you didn't need to go to them.
the fact that splash mountain has no seat belts or lap bars makes me nervous even though i know i won't fall out.
Woo, Physics!
