If you have used this product, or something similar, did it work? If so, which version, pour in or tank tablets or other?

Streaks forming in toilet bowls and scouring no longer working to remove.
Thanks

I buy the plastic square-shaped bottles of Iron Out an pour it directly into the toilet bowl. Let it set for about 15 minutes and then scrub it with the toilet bowl brush. It does a pretty good job on my toilet.

I've really never used the tablets in the tank, so not sure how that works.

We have well water and have a water softener but some rust still gets through.

We have well water also and Iron Out is about the only thing I've found that works.

We use the powder also - as described in the post right above mine.

My only warning is do not breath that stuff in. I don't even have asthma and I've been sent into "OMG I'm gasping for air!!!" attacks from that powder - so be careful.

Will this help with rust streaks above the water line? I don't have a rust ring, just streaks where the water enters down the bowl.

Also, where do you buy it? Like Walmart or Home Depot?

We have well water and I had this problem. A pumice stone will take the rust stains out of the bowl and using the drop in tablet in the tank will help prevent it in the future. I have only found the drop in tablets at home improvement stores lately.

Thanks. Will see what I can find.

Was trying to avoid having to get down on knees to scrub with a pumice stone as I have back & hip pain & that position isn't comfortable for me.

I used to have difficult time scrubbing tub, but we have found solutions to that. :goodvibes

Iron Out does pretty well on the water as it enters down the bowl on mine.

I buy it as Kroger, I've also seen it at Meijers.

As another poster mentioned, be careful about breathing in the fumes from it. It's pretty toxic.

Have you tried "The Works"? This always gets my bowls clean. I told my neighbor to try some, she said it took out rust stains that were there for years, she just never could get them gone. She poured some in the tank, and also in the bowl and let it sit about 15 minutes. Gave a good scrub and gone. She was so amazed she called me at night to come over an look

I get mine at the Acme, but I think WalMart also sells it.

After they are gone, you just use The Works to clean your toilet as often as needed, as your regular toilet cleaning routine (don't really need to put in the tank again).

I have a different problem - I think the cleaner stained the bowl. The toilet down the basement was a cheaper model and doesn't flush very forceful. When I flush to rinse the cleaner the water only streams down parts of the bowl so streaks of cleaner sat on the bowl all day. Now there are gray streaks staining the bowl. Can that be cleaned?:confused3
