I purchased my pillowcases today for our upcoming cruise. Can anyone recommend a brand of iron on transfers that they have used with good results. I haven't had much luck in the past using transfers.

Thanks,
Tammy

I used to use Invent-it transfers, but they went out of business. I am now using Avery # 4271 transfers. My DW picked me up a 20 pack of transfers at BJ's yesterday for $14.99, these have worked out just fine for me.

Hey Veranda Man, can you tell me how this all works? Do you need a special program? Can you use ANY picture? I'm goin crazy with this pillowcase stuff. I found a "disney cruise line pillowcase" on ebay but it went for $25 without shipping (that was another $3) I just thought that was crazy, now I'm sorry that I didn't take it. I really want one with the ship on it, I think that would be so perfect. I use avery products at work, so I think I can get the transfer, just need some info on how to do it. If I could use a picture of the magic from the internet, that would be so COOL. Thanks so much!

I just put some graphis together in WORD, and printed it on the inkjet paper. I can send you that page if you email me I will attach it.

If you are leery of doing it yourself, you might want to see if there is a magic/trick shop in your area that does transfers. We have photos put onto t-shirts all the time at a local trick shop. People are always amazed at our cool shirts, and it's amazingly simple and reasonable in cost. I know they have the right kind of software, printer, and VERY hot industrial iron.

I just made a pillowcase myself and I was a bit leery of it at first, but it was pretty easy. I used XEROX iron on transfer paper. First you print your design onto the paper - just a regular inkjet printer. You then clip the design from the paper so that you get rid of the white areas. My instructions (on the package) said to use the highest cotton setting, make sure the pillowcase is smoothed out and then iron the transfer on (you don't use an ironing board for this - I used a TV tray with an extra pillowcase underneath. You have to really press down hard and go over the transfer in horizontal then vertical passes, getting all of it. (I think it was for three minutes for a large transfer) Then you just let it cool and peel the paper off. Mine came out great - give it a shot!

Do they make transfers that will print out on a color copier/printer also that is not inkjet? I was not sure if they are limited to ink jet printers.

In addition, does anyone have some cool hi-res pics of the cruise, maybe a picture of the characters on castaway cay with the ship in the background, maybe the princesses together, etc?

I cant wait to make these for our two young daughters for our May cruise!

Me too! We have the pillowcases...now we need something to put on them. I have iron on stuff that goes right through the printer and then gets ironed on directly.

I used Print Shop to make my design then printed them out on an iron-on paper. It worked great. Now I have all the autographs on them and they are cool! Just try it out it is not really hard.

Just remember when you print the image you have to use mirror image and print it backwards. Otherwise when you transfer it will come out backwards on your pillowcase.
