We are thinking about making our own Disney shirts to wear. I have the iron on paper you put in your printer and I've found the clips we want but....................if Mickey's eyes have white and his glove is white, won't that part be the color of our shirts since the printer doesn't have white ink? Any suggestions?

There are 2 different kinds of t-shirt transfers-one for dark fabric that will allow you to put designs on dark t-shirts and not have the color show through. If you have the kind for light fabric, they will not look right on a colored t-shirt because, as you said, the color will show through anywhere there is white. Even with a dark fabric transfer, you need to be careful on red-I found out the hard way that they can bleed, even if prewashed more than once. HTH.

The shirts we were going to do are lime green. I have both the light and dark type of transfer paper. But since my printer does not have white ink the glove area and the whites of Mickey's eyes will be clear will they not? And if that is the case won't the lime come through? If so does anyone know where you can purchase iron on transfers of Mickey and the gang?

you must go to the creative disign board on this thread they have tons of help and tutorials and will answer all of your questions about this. i have done an iron on with the dark transfer paper(thanks creative disign) but it was on a white shirt, the colors are very vibrant and nice. good luck and have fun

I just did a few t-shirts for our trip..... you must get the DARK transfer paper and even though your printer doesn't have "white ink" it will print off white for all the parts that are white.
Have fun.... mine turned out SO cute and the creative DISigners are so AMAZING for doing all of these for us! :)

Go to the creative disign board on here. They have awesome designers and there are a few threads that have step by step directions and if you need help, there are many dissers there to help you out:) good luck..

The transfer paper for light colors has a clear background. The transfer paper for dark colors has a white background and white will be mostly white.

If you do use the dark color ones, you will have to very carefully trim around the design. Any thing that you don't cut off will be white.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Just the info I needed as usual. This is a great message board.:goodvibes

If you soak the shirts in white vinegar after they are printed and dried, it will help lock in the colors and prevent running when washed. :thumbsup2
