Iron Chef Redemption?

Anyone watching? As in the previous season, Chef Mehta drives me nuts.....I do not want him to win. I also cannot stand the bald chef. Hoping for one of the ladies to win, especially Chef Freitag.

I am watching and agree about Chef Mehta. He is just too cocky. I was pretty certain they were going to pick a woman last year, and they didn't. So I think it will be a woman winner this time. I am rooting for Chef Guarnaschelli.

I want Amanda first, then Alex, and then Falkner.

Mehta can't leave soon enough. I am not an Amanda fan I love Faulker and think she is the best chef out of the three- but I have made many of Alex's recipes and they are all delicious.

The bald guy scares me a bit- with the dark eyes- all clean and then all the tats.

I agree with you all about Chef Mehta - way too arrogant. I'll be happy to see him go.

I don't know why, but Alex bothers me just a little bit. I think she's very sincere and wants to do really well, but I guess I never really liked her as a judge on Chopped.

I do love Amanda and she seems to be really pleasing the judges as well. I think that's who I'm rooting for.

It was interesting how offended some contestants got that Spike and Marcel plated their lobster dishes together. Marcel is an interesting character.

I really like Chef Guarnaschelli. I would love to hang out with her, drink some wine and have her teach me some tricks of the trade, but I think Chef Faulkner is more Iron Chef material.

I agree with this. She is so snotty and condescending on Chopped, it just runs over into Iron Chef.

I wanted to see them both gone last night. I'm the sole hold out on Mehta, I like him, but I can't stand Appleman, I hope he's the next to go.

I think I'm rooting for Faulkner.

I wouldn't mind any of the women winning. Any of the guys left can pretty much leave at anytime. Alex being a sous chef I would have thought would help her, but I guess it didn't help Anne last year. I wish Anne was back again this year.

I agree with you all I can't stand Chef Mehta either. I didn't like him the first time around either. I would also be happy with any of the women - all of the men can go. I think both guys should have gone home last night, they were just to cocky for me. And I also agree that the bald headed guy gives me the creeps.

I love Alex! She's my favorite. I wanted her to win last year. I'd love to see her, Falkner, or Frietag win. Iron Chef needs another woman!

So am I - I really like Alex. I think the fact that Alex was Zakarian's sous chef indicates that they are grooming her for Iron Chef. It's different than Anne Burrell's situation - she became a Food Network star after being Batali's sous chef. Alex is already a Food Network star, and didn't become a sous chef until last year.

Neither Spike nor Marcel have any business being on this show. They are young and untested, and have lost every competition they've been in. And Marcel isn't seeking "redemption"; he's new!

What Mehta and Appleman and some of the others seem to forget is that this is not a straight cooking show like Top Chef. It's also an audition for a TELEVISION show. They have to select someone that people will watch. They made that mistake one year when they selected Marc Forgione; his ratings are low. They're not going to choose Mehta, no matter how well he cooks, because he's not watchable.

(Of course, last year I thought Alex or another woman would win - I was convinced it would be Falkner over Zacharian - so that shows you how much my opinion is worth! )

I can't believe Faulkner went home! I missed the auction episode last season (apparently because I had no idea what they were talking about), but Marcel had the best dish and Elizabeth went home? Wowww is all I can say!

For me it's Alex. It was between her and Elizabeth all along. Can't believe Elizabeth is gone. They made a huge mistake. Mehta weird and the bald guy just about as bad. IF either of them win I will be sick.
