Iron Chef America -- Wow!

I've been watching it. I loved the spiny lobster challenge. Some of those dishes had my mouth watering. I was glad to see Mario Batali win that one.

We loved it but we missed...

It just isn't the same without Chairman Kaga. ;)

My son-13 stumbled across it last night and he and my 11 year old stayed up and watched. They loved the show! It ceratinly isn't anything I ever thught they would be interested in! They both said they wanted to be judges which is a riot because my 11 year old is sooo picky! LOL
I love the shows!

Mario had an almost Homer Simpson moment in praising his opponent's restaurant, did you see? He got all dreamy and I was waiting for the drool :)

I liked the way the Americans were able to praise their opponents abilities instead of just saying something like "I like the theme music on his TV show." We felt the Japanese must have had some cultural rules about what competitors can say about each other at the start of a competition in order to appear tough.

At the tag team battle, even though Mario didn't win, some of his recipes really caught my interest the most. I went to the FoodTV web site to see if they had posted recipes, but could not find them so far.
