Irish Pub

Hi Dave,

If you do a search on this board for "Raglan Road" you will find many threads and many opinions!

Enjoy,

Bob

Raglan Road is a fun place to eat we were there Nov 12 sat in the bar area so we could see the music.the place is very nicly built with dark rich woods lots of beer , the food was good not over priced ,my wife had the sheprds pie and I had the pork shank bolth were excelent and for desert we split the bread and butter pudding --- to die for try it you'll like it the band that played that night was really good

Beautiful environment and good food but very small portions for a very large pricetag. We were quite shocked, actually, that it was so expensive even for a tourist trap ;)

We went late at night, had great service, good beer, and GREAT entertainment. It was loud and busy and all adults when we went - which was awesome!

DH and I will return for drinks again but not food due to cost.

Loved Raglan Road!

We ate there in October, a few days after it opened. The restaurant is lovely and the people working there were all wonderful. We got there at 3pm after spending the morning at DTD, the restaurant was nearly empty, so we had it to ourselves for the most part.

Our server made recommendations, told us all about the restaurant (even gave us some gossip about a plan for a bowling place coming to Pleasure Island) and generally took excellent care of us.

I didn't find the portions to be small by any means and found the prices comparable to many table service locations at WDW. This is a Must-Do for our next trip, that's how much we loved it.

It's worth a try, everyone has different opinions , if the menu appeals to you give it a whirl. :goodvibes

We just went again on Wed night with our Clear Channel GC. Between the two of us we shared the "Smokie City," the sirloin steak, and the chicken and mushroom pie.

The Smokie City was, I thought, supposed to be a smoked fish dip, but it was more of a cream of smoked fish soup. It was good, even my fiance who doesn't like fishy things liked it. It came with three small pieces of grilled bread and we had to ask for more. It was very heavy, however, and priced high - $11.

Regarding prices, it's really the appetizers and desserts that are way overpriced, even for Disney standards. The appetizers and desserts are higher priced than the Disney signature restaurants, and not as high quality.

The sirloin steak was actually very good, flavorful and lean. It was actually cooked right (I like it medium, do the dismay of my fiance), and the sweet potato wedges with basil oil were excellent. This was the highlight of the night.

The chicken and mushroom pie was good, but nothing to write home about. It was a soupy chicken pot pie with a pastry top. I can't really find any words to describe it beyond that because that's about it. It came with what was supposed to be an arugala salad (it wasn't, it was mixed baby greens), with an overly tart, forgettable dressing. Eh.

Service seemed hit or miss - we still had our appetizer when our entrees came, and I *hate* that. I'd rather wait 20 min between appetizer and entree than have both at the same time. I had forgotten the name of the hard cider, so asked for "the hard cider on tap" and the server had *no clue* what I was taking about. "Side...er? Side dish? Hard side? What?" That put me off, for being in a pub.

The beer selection is poor to average for a pub, but what I'd expect out of Disney.

The portions were fairly small compared to other Disney restaurants. They were just right for what a normal non-restaurant portion size would be, but we're used to boxing up half to take home, especially at the prices.

Raglan Road in itself is good, after everything we would recommend it to people who don't have a pub near them back home. They don't take DDE, which is a huge blow since we live here and commonly eat at Disney. We choose restaurants that take DDE over those that don't. The food is about the same quality to slightly better than our local pub, at twice the price. So we don't really feel the need to go back beyond using our second GC.

We had appetizers with our group today - it is a lovely restaurant, and the appetizers were great. I don't think there is a prettier restaurant on property, and the food was priced less expensive than I thought it'd be (we didn't have to pay today).

I made a res for tomorrow night, I wanted to take my husband - and during the entertainment.

My Daughter and I ate at Raglan Road on the Tuesday evening just before Thanksgiving. We thought the food was wonderful and the service was excellent! We shared the sausage appetizer which was just enough for the two of us. For entre my daughter had the sheppard's pin and I had the loin of bacon (more like ham than bacon) and both were wonderful (very good recomondations from our server).

We ate in the Raglan room in big comfy leather chairs just in front of a fireplace. We will absolutly return but next time we will ask for a table in the main room within sight of the stage so we can better hear and see the band and the Irish Step Dancers.

We have now added Raglan Road to our DNM (Do not miss) List!

Give it a try on upcoming trip thanls to all for sharing information on it. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:
