Iraq oil fires...

Confirmation just came in that as many as 4 oil fields have started burning.

I just don't undestand why they would do that when it hurts them in the long run! Do they not undertand that?

It's a "If I can't have the oil, neither can you" thing. It actually just shows he thinks he is going to get the pants beat off him. He doesn't really care about his country if he isn't the leader, he doesn't care about his country when he IS the leader...he just cares about being the leader and the wealth that comes with it. If it isn't HIS wealth, it can go up in smoke.
