Starting a thread to keep everyone updated on the various iPod deals out there. I'm listing deals for the 8 gb 4th Generation Touch, but feel free to add any other prices you've seen.

Current list price (for the newest model) on the Apple site:
8 gb $229
32 gb $299
64 gb $399

Toys R Us Deal (ONE DAY DEAL on Monday 11/1)
Save $20 on 8 or 32 gb iPod Touch + receive a $10 gift card with purchase

Target Deal (week of 10/31-11/6)
Free $15 gift card on 8 gb Touch

Please add any other deals you come across!

thanks. we are going to go today and buy one for my son's bday.

Target Online has the 8gb for $214.99 this week. I think it is instead of the gift card for $15.00 that you would receive at the store.

PLUS....if you put in your 'R us rewards number, you get 10% back on all purchases between now and 12/24 (max $50).

Do they send you a coupon for this? I bought the above deal 32G today.

Yes they send you coupons, I think it's once a month if you have any accumulated or you can go online to TRU.com and look under the rewards r us tab and you can see the rewards you have accumulated. When they are available, you can print them off. It will take awhile for today's purchase to show up. I bought the 8gb today too. You can also use the rewards coupons to buy itunes giftcards if you want. I'm going to look on BF to see if there is a better bundle package w/the itunes gift cards but I doubt it since they don't usually discount the ipods on BF.

Ugh, I went into TRU today and they were all out of the 8gb. So frustrating! They wouldn't give me a raincheck since it was a 1-day coupon, and the clerk told me that they've been out of them all day. Clerk said she doesn't know why corporate does these sales on a Monday when people have shopped the flyer over the weekend. (Bait & Switch, anyone? They sure had plenty of the more expensive 32 gb!) Yet another reason I hate Toys R Us. Might have to commit to patronizing another store even if it's a lesser deal.

Thanks for starting this thread! This is the only big item I have left to buy for Christmas. I want the 8gb 4th Generation.

They had plenty of 8G and 32G at my store. I went to buy the 8G and let the guy talk me into the 32G. I don't know if he gets commission or not bu he was a good salesperson. I had already been agonizing over which one to get. I figured it was worth $70 more for 4times the memory since it also is a camera. Then, I justified it further by the fact I was getting $10 TRU giftcard, $27 in rewards $ plus earning double points on my debit card that I am using to get itunes cards. I'm a suckor, I know.

Updating with sales for the week of 11/8.

Toys R Us
iPod Touch Bundle (8 gb)
iPod Touch plus Powerblock Micro, Aux Cable, Case**
$259.96 ($304.96 value) PLUS free $10 gift card (in store only) with any iPod purchase
**Anyone know if these extras are worth it? Are they necessary?

Best Buy
iPod Touch Bundle (8 gb)
iPod Touch plus Soft Case and wall charger
$259.97 (save $30)

iPod Touch plus Soft Case and wall charger and 2-year Geek Squad Black Tie Protection
$289.96 (save $30)

Please add more if you see any!

Both my kids have one and now I am starting to think about getting one. So I am keeping an eye on this thread! my birthday is Dec. 31st. So I am hoping!

:goodvibes

Has anyone ever purchased a refurbished ipod touch from Apple?
I'm seriously thinking of going this route for my dh - he really only uses it for playing soduku. :)

He currently has one (a 3rd generation) - but our DS7 dropped it and it now has a crack on the screen. :sad2: DH is constantly complaining about the crack so I'd thought I'd get him a new one and let our DS7 use the one w/ the cracked screen. Our DS7 has autism and loves doing his flashcards and watching netflix videos on the touch. :thumbsup2

I have a refurb nano from about years ago and it still works great. Also remember to check out amazon.com. There is no tax for some states and they are usualy about 10 off .

I have bought 3 refurbished ipod nano's from apple.com over the years. One of the nano's which is a 2nd generation still works but sometimes the screen is just all white but the music plays fine.

I would buy a refurbished again as they have the same warranty as a new one. Also make sure the current features are not important to you as they don't have any current generations available as refurbished... yet.

Just asked this question on here last week and got great feedback so I purchased one last week for $149-no shipping and I received it in 48 hours :thumbsup2. I haven't opened the Ipod box yet (but I will because I want to load it up before Christmas) but it comes boxed and sealed just like a new one and has a 1 year warranty like a new one. Love saving money!!!

What are the major differences between all three ? My two kids are asking for one from santa. They are 8 and 9 so they really do not need all the bells and whistles.
Thanks
