iPod Touch 5 iHome?

Are there any available that don't need an add'l adapter? I would like to get DD11 a dock that is also a clock radio.
Also, has anyone bought the wall charger from amazon that is not from Apple (and thus less expensive) and it worked well? I'm a little afraid to get one this way since I read a review that said it ruined someone's iPod. Kinda new to all this, so thanks for any help!!

I'm not sure which wall charger you're talking about, but I bought one off amazon that has 3 usb slots in it, so I can charge 3 at once. I've had it almost a year & it charges everything great. I have an iphone & ipod, and also charge my nook on it.

It was one of the cheaper ones, if that helps. Can't remember the name, but the major complaint was the super bright blue LED light it has....and those reviews were right. LOL I have a piece of masking tape over it (several layers, actually) & it's not so much of a nuisance now.

I have no answer to the ihome question.

Nothing for the iphone 5 yet (no iHomes tuff, no dock, no speakers without bluetooth, etc). I was in the Apple store the other day and asked. They are supposedly "working on one" but the Apple guy had no idea when it would actually be out.

It was all I wanted for Xmas this year, too, lol!!

I, too, want to get an iHome alarm clock. DD is getting an iPod 4th gen. Does anyone have recommendations on a good sounding iHome type system that is also an alarm clock? DD was telling me that her friend has one but it sounds weird (cheap).

I'm not sure about the one on Amazon but I know the Barnes & Noble Nook charger and my Nikon Coolpix charger work just fine with all our Apple devices.

We've decided to just wait and charge the kid's new iPods thru our computers. They were expensive enough w/o this added expense. DH and I have iPhones, which came with wall chargers, so I guess I just thought the iPods would too!!

I bought a cheap generic charger off E bay for my daughters I-touch and a few months later the I-touch overheated and went bad using the charger. Luckily Apple is great about returns during the warranty period so I got a new one but I didn't even think about the charger and the 1st time we charged it the same thing happened. Once again Apple gave us a new one but were alot less helpful on that one (for good reason). I did put 2 and 2 together after that and had no further problems using the apple charger.

If it's the 4th gen, with the old charging port, my dd has a Sony that is great!! We went through 2 Ihomes in less than 2 years, the sounded bad, and the clocks quit keeping time. The Sony we have had for almost 3 years now. The sound is so much better, and it still keeps time.

You can use your wall chargers (if they have the USB plug) if you just get a new cable from Apple. They are $19.99.

Wow, this solidifies my decision not to get a non-Apple product! Sorry to hear that, but that's awesome that Apple replaced 2 of them!!
