My headphones broke yesterday and I have been forced to dust off my original Ipod earbuds in the interim. Can you say UNCOMFORTABLE and POOR SOUND QUALITY? Ugh. The headphones I had been using were pretty good. DH had found them for me. The only complaint I had with them was that they came with a little soft rubber piece that goes over the earbud (for comfort) but they pop off and get lost all the time. But the sound quality was really great.

So today we're heading out to buy a new set, but I thought I'd research some alternate possibilities. What do you use? Anyone have "Skull Candy" brand headphone/earbuds? I want ones that will stay put in my ear, not hurt and sound like I'm "in the club/concert".

Thanks!

Well my 14 year old son has skull candy headphones and in his words exactly "they are amazing!" I agree the ipod headphones are horrible. His were about 40 dollars and they have less expensive ones and more expensive ones..Good luck!

I think everyone I know that has an Ipod uses Skull Candy earphones. I don't have an Ipod and have never used them but one thing is they come with different sizes of pad things so you can get a better fit. My DD has a smaller one for one ear and a larger one for the other ear even. :lmao:

Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds are popular in my house. My oldest recently bought Skullcandy Titan earbuds and said they blew away the INK'D type. I think they make like 6-7 different types.

I got DS a pair of the Skull Candy Ink'd at Target the week before Christmas. They were on sale for $9.99; their regular price was listed as $16.99. Same ones were $21.20 at Best Buy the same day.

Another vote for Skull Candy. I bought them for my DD a couple of yrs ago & she still loves them. She likes the comfort & sound quality of them.

Over the holidays I found them on Amazon with Free Shipping for $9.86. I used to wait for Target to have them on sale too. I think Amazon still has them for that price.

OP - As I was looking at Amazon I saw these - Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-CX...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263051144&sr=1-1

I have their headphones and they make an excellent product. The price is pretty great too and lots of positive reviews.

I just got dd a pair of skullcandy Ink'd and a pair of lowriders for under $25 at Amazon. She likes the Ink'd so much better than her original ipod buds, they are way more comfortable.

My dh and I both have V-Moda brand ear phones. Those Apple ones just kill my ears, it's painful when I take them out. These are much more comfortable and the sound is really good.

Radio Shack. It's like a wall of headphones over there.

The ones I have actually have volume control on the cord. Which means, I can lock the i-pod, stick it in my bag, and still higher and lower the volume as needed.

As for pads, I change mine out every few months no matter what. When I can buy a set of 4 ear covers for $3, it just makes sense.

Do you have to have earbuds? If you haven't tried the more traditional style headphones you might want to give 'em a listen. I have some Koss PortaPro headphones that cost about $30. They have a lifetime warranty, so if you break them you can send them in with something like $6 and they'll fix or replace them.

I also have some Sony earbuds that sound terrific, but they were around $100--maybe out of your budget.:)

All 6 of us in our family have "Skull Candy" headphones:worship:
Comfortable:cloud9: and stylish......
These are the kinds we have and everyone has cool colors but most importantly the sound is incredible!!
DH has "Lurker"
Myself (love, love, love my lowriders!), DS 13 and DD 11 all have "lowriders"
DS 20 has "chops"
DS 23 has "skullcrushers"

Ok, so I followed the recommendations of many here and some I've spoken to, and went out tonight and bought a pair of Skullcandy Ink'd.

For the love of...What a WASTE of a perfectly good $17!

The sounds quality was just horrendous. Worse than the crappy ear buds that came with the ipod. The only positive thing I can say about them is that they were super comfortable and did a wonderful job of sealing out outside noise. But there was absolutely NO bass and everything sounded extremely tinny and ridiculously loud. I adjusted the EQ in every manner possible and they were still awful.

I will keep them for DH to use when he's on the tractor since they do such a good job of cancelling out other sound, and he listens to a lot of podcasts. But for me, the hunt continues. Maybe I will just pick up a replacement set of my old Phillips surround sound ear0buds. They were really good until they broke.

Not of Skullcandy fan myself. I got a set of Bose in ear headphones last year and they are still the most comfortable I have ever owned.

My DH has Sennheiser and he enjoys them.

The other problem with the Skullcandy is that you can hear every little tap or bump you make on the cord, IN the ear piece. Grumble....

ITA! Expensive yes.... at $99 but worth every penny :thumbsup2

I love Bose for my iPods. I know they are pricey, but they have the best sound and they are so comfy to the ear!
