I am finally eligible for a new phone with my verizon contract and I am FINALLY getting my iphone. any tips? what accessories do I need? favorite apps? does it make a difference if I buy from the apple store or verizon wireless store or online?

also, just saw the white one online and am intrigued. haven't seen it in person yet. does anybody have one? love it? hate it? does it get dirty fast?

I've always just had a regular phone so am looking forward to having a bit of a toy as well now :) :) :)

I've had iPhones since they first came out and I love them! Must have apps: Angry Birds, Words with Friends.

As far as accessories, I would get a decent case and if you're often far from a charger I would get a Mophie Juice Pack case which is like an extra battery with the flip of a switch.

One tip that I actually only recently learned is when you're in Safari and most other apps, if you're at the bottom of the page, tap the status bar (across the top of the screen where the clock is) and it will auto-scroll back to the top of the page.

Verizon's iPhone lacks the ability to use data services while on a call. AT&T doesn't.

I also really like this site: http://www.tipb.com/ the iphone blog.

There are 2 Disney Park Wait Time Apps. Have them both, wouldnt be without them. I sometimes, when at work, check ride times and its like I am there.... ok. Not really but its nice to have em...

I miss my Droid. I hate my iPhone. So much more costs on it. Extremely limiting OS. I could go on.

thanks!!!! okay now trying to decide between 16 and 32 gb. anybody?

Congrats! I love my iPhone, and I often wonder how I got by without it... :lmao:

I'll second the suggestion to get a nice, sturdy case for it! I have an Otter Box, and it's awesome!! From my experience with it so far, that thing is virtually indestructible!! They're not cheap, but when you pay that much for a phone, it's worth paying a little extra for a nice case.

As for the apps, Angry Birds and Words with Friends are cool, but my favorites are the useful ones like Weather Channel, Walgreens (if you have your scripts with them, the app allows you to auto refill by simply scanning the barcode on your prescription bottle!! :thumbsup2 )
Also, if you like to read, there are great apps like Kindle and Nook for iphone, and the OverDrive app allows you to borrow ebooks from your local library on your phone! :thumbsup2

ALSO...lol...Pandora is a great app to have.

Another handy tidbit...my car has built-in bluetooth, so not only does that allow me to handle my calls in the car hands-free, but I can listen to any audio from my phone right through my car stereo! So when I stream Pandora in the car, I can have it come right through the stereo. When DD borrows my phone in the car to watch a movie, I can switch the audio so it feeds through the car. She loves that! :thumbsup2

Oh! And for the hard drive size, it depends on how much "stuff" you plan to add. Movies and music can suck it up quickly, but for me the 16gb is perfect. If I get close to max capacity, I'll just shuffle things around.

I am going to recommend an Otter Box. I am one of those people that cannot stand marks on my phone, I have bought three different color ones and I swap them out when I am in a different color mode! These things protect them from everything! even if they drop!!!

Go big!:thumbsup2

I've got the 32gig. I figured that for $100 extra it was easier to keep all my music on it than having to swap it around all the time (I've got over 10g of music), and if you want to keep movies on it, you'll appreciate the extra space.

I love the new iphone 4, glad I got it. It has a lot of great apps. I like paypal, ebay, espn, weather, etc.

It depends on how many videos and such you want to have available at one time.

My favorite app is CardStar. It hold all your shopping cards, hotel loyalty numbers, Frequent Flyer accounts.

Which model Otter Box do you have? I want something sturdy but also slim. I'll be slipping it into a pocket when I run. Otherwise I'll have to switch it to an armband holder and I really don't want to be switching cases.

I love the disney wait times app and the Disney app itself.
Netflicks
Flashlight
Camera bag
words with friends
Up fish
Groupon
Starbucks mobile
