Other than being able to place and receive phone calls are there any other differences between the iPhone and the touch?
There is an app (an iPod program) that allows you to use the iPhone to record memos (an iPod touch could do this with a microphone attached).what might one need a microphone for if not talking via phone?
We have Verizon too, so we have iPod touch (touches??) and decided not to wait for the iPhone to come to Verizon.I don't have AT&T wireless and I've been thinking about getting a Touch, I just can't decide if I should go ahead and get one or wait around until some rumoured date in the future when Verizon might have the iPhone.
One of the things to think about with the iPhone or any smart phone is that you are required to carry a pretty expensive data plan. I think when DH checked, it would be something like $2000 a year more.
It's $30 a month per phone, unless you want corporate email also then it's $45. I've been debating about dropping my landline and using that savings towards a dataplan, or at least bundling my phone and internet for a small savings (not sure why I haven't done that before now anyway).
What's the earliest people think Verizon MAY have the iPhone? And yes I realize it may never happen.
The earliest I've heard is around Sept. 2010. In time for the holidays. I am holding my breath a little but the iPhone works on a different digital system than Verizon, so I don't know how they plan to work it out.
Sounds like it's time to give up and buy a Touch
